Suspect Arrested: Road Rage Incident Leads to Firearm Brandishing
The Golden Gate Division Major Crimes Unit investigated an incident that occurred last month on Interstate 880 (I-880) in Oakland after a driver allegedly pointed a firearm at another motorist during a road rage encounter. 🚨
On April 8, 2026, at 7:16 p.m., the Golden Gate Communications Center received reports of a brandishing incident on southbound I-880, south of Brush Street in Oakland. Following a brief exchange during a road rage incident, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm at the victim.
Through investigative follow-up, detectives identified the suspect and, on April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:26 a.m., conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the suspect being taken into custody without incident.
As part of the investigation, officers also served a search warrant and recovered numerous illegal fi****ms from the suspects residence. The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail on multiple felony firearm-related charges.
