🏆 WE BROUGHT HOME THE HARDWARE! 🏆

Last night, our members took part in the Nassau County Firemen’s Association Parade, hosted by our brothers and sisters in Oceanside.
We are proud to announce that Valley Stream came out on top!

🏆 Best Appearing – 46+ 🥇 1st Place – Valley Stream 🥈 2nd Place – Oceanside 🥉 3rd Place – Freeport

🏆 Best Appearing Overall 🥇 1st Place – VALLEY STREAM!

A huge congratulations to all of the members who put in the time and effort to get our apparatus and company’s ready for the parade. Your hard work, pride, and dedication showed!

A special thank you to the Oceanside Fire Department for hosting a great parade and to all the departments who came out and made it a memorable night.

🚒 Throwback Thursday 🚒

Today we look back to July 29, 1996, when Engine 343 responded to the historic Barry's My Carpet fire on Merrick Road.

One of the largest commercial fires in Valley Stream's history, this incident became the benchmark for major commercial structure fires in our area for years to come.

A proud piece of Engine 343's history and a reminder of the dedication of the members who answered the call.

Today, we celebrate an important chapter in the history of Engine Company 3.

On this day in 1971, our current firehouse was officially dedicated after the devastating fire that destroyed the original quarters in December 1969.

What could have been the end of an era instead became the beginning of a new one. Through the dedication and hard work of the Engine 3 Building Committee, along with the support of our members and community, a new home was built—one that has proudly served Engine 3 and the residents of Valley Stream for more than five decades.

As we look back, we’re reminded that while buildings may change, the pride, tradition, and commitment to serving our community remain the same.

Here’s to those who rebuilt, those who have served within these walls, and those who continue to carry the Engine 3 legacy forward.

On February 25, 2015, Engine 343 was first due to a House Fire on Gold Street.

Last night at approximately 2000 hours, our members were first due to a Signal 10 (working fire) at 96 E. St. Marks Place in Valley Stream.

This past weekend, our Fire Department gathered to celebrate at our annual Installation Dinner, recognizing the dedication, commitment, and accomplishments of our members. Congratulations to all of our newly sworn-in Chiefs, Officers, and Wardens.
Engine 3 had many proud moments to celebrate throughout the evening.

Engine 3 was honored with a Unit Citation Award for the heroic actions displayed at an auto accident on August 23, 2025. Recognized for their efforts were Lieutenant Stephan Jean, Ex-Captain Alexander Mangual, and Firefighter Peter Laserinko. In addition, Lieutenant Stephan Jean received a Pre-Hospital Save Award for his actions on that same call.

We are also proud to recognize four members who achieved Honorary Chief status:

Honorary Chief Deborah Bove (Not Pictured)

Lastly, congratulations to Honorary Chief George Fulkerson, who was awarded Firefighter of the Year for his outstanding dedication and devoted service to our department and community.
