🚁 Training in Progress 🚒

Tonight, the Lynbrook Fire Department is participating in an interagency training exercise with the Nassau County Police Department Aviation Unit.

These joint training exercises provide our members with the opportunity to strengthen coordination, communication, and operational readiness during incidents where air support and ground operations work together. By training side-by-side, we ensure that when an emergency occurs, our agencies can respond safely, efficiently, and as one team.

If you notice emergency vehicles or a police helicopter operating in the area, please be advised that this is a planned training exercise and there is no cause for alarm.

Thank you to the Nassau County Police Department Aviation Unit for their continued partnership and commitment to public safety.

Together, we train today to better serve our community tomorrow.

The Lynbrook Fire Department earned several top honors during its 125th Anniversary Parade and the Fourth Battalion Parade on Saturday, taking home Best Appearing awards for its membership, Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Fire Department.

The awards were presented during a ceremony following the parade. Lynbrook’s chiefs accepted trophies on behalf of the department, while members of the Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Fire Department were also recognized for their winning entries.

Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, today’s parade is cancelled

Please note the Memorial Day Parade has been canceled due to the weather.

The Doughboy ceremony is still on as planned and will take place at the village hall.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, The Lynbrook Fire Department held a recruitment meet and greet at the Earle Avenue parking field, as part of New York State’s 17th annual Recruit NY campaign, to attract additional volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel, as well as junior firefighters, to join the Lynbrook Fire Department. Events like this have been held each year by volunteer firefighters throughout the state.
