🌱 OUR 2026 MID-YEAR REPORT IS HERE
This year, our community has truly grown some good, and the numbers prove it.
🥕 ON THE FARM:
We distributed 1,980 lbs of fresh food to our local community, including 318 lbs of vegetables & greens and 1,421 lbs of fruit, plus 93 lbs of ‘ulu (breadfruit) and 67 lbs of kalo, honoring the foods that have nourished Hawai’i for generations.
🌻 IN THE SCHOOLS:
4,289 students across 16 schools got their hands dirty in our school gardens this year. We delivered 1,632 Kumu Kits to 51 classrooms, and 501 youth joined us during intercession programs. The result: 95.1% of students rated their garden experience as positive!
📚 IN THE CLASSROOM & BEYOND:
63% of teachers are already weaving the garden into core curriculum outside of garden class, and an incredible 94% want to do even more of it. The impact doesn’t stop at the school gate, either. Families report cooking with fresh, local ingredients (26.6%), talking more about plants, food, and nature (31.9%), planting home gardens (24.9%), and visiting farmers markets and farms (16.6%) since joining our program.
None of this happens without our incredible community of volunteers, teachers, families, and supporters. Mahalo for helping us grow a healthier Maui, one garden at a time. 💚
