Congressman Chuck Edwards serves as the U.S. representative for North Carolina’s 11th District, which covers 15 counties in the state’s western mountains. A Hendersonville businessman and civic leader, Chuck previously served three terms in the North Carolina Senate beginning in 2016. There, he gained a reputation as a workhorse, serving on 18 committees – chairing eight of them – and focusing on improving the lives of those in his district and for all North Carolinians. In November 2022, Chuck was elected to Congress. House of Representatives, Chuck’s work ethic was recognized, and he has the rare honor as a freshman of being selected to sit on the Appropriations Committee and the Budget Committee. On Appropriations, he sits on four subcommittees: Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Subcommittee; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education; and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs. However, as important as that legislative work is, Chuck’s main focus continues to be serving his constituents, helping them interface with federal agencies, assisting with problems, and trying to make life better for Western North Carolinians. His office motto is “First in constituent services.”

🇺🇸 After much prayer, thoughtful reflection, and many conversations with my family, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from my re-election campaign. I will complete my current term.

Serving the people of Western North Carolina has been the greatest honor of my professional life. I ran for Congress with one purpose: to serve this nation, defend our Constitution, and fight for the common people living in these mountains. Every vote I have cast and every decision I have made has been guided by that commitment.

This decision has not come easily. Public service always requires sacrifice—not only from those who serve, but from their spouses, families, volunteers, and supporters. Teresa and I are profoundly grateful for the countless people who have stood beside us with their prayers, encouragement, and friendship throughout this journey.

To every volunteer, every supporter who made a contribution, every constituent who shared their concerns, and every citizen who placed their trust in me, thank you. Your confidence has been a blessing that I will never forget.

While my campaign is ending, my love for the people of Western North Carolina and my faith in America’s future remain as strong as ever.

Before I close, there is one group of people who deserve recognition beyond words—my staff.

The public often sees me, but they rarely see the dedicated men and women working long hours behind the scenes to serve our constituents. Under the dedicated leadership of Toby Douthat, our Chief of Staff, and Chris Burns, District Director and ardent friend, every day, my team answers thousands of phone calls, helps families navigate federal agencies, assists veterans, supports communities recovering from disasters, works tirelessly on legislation, and represents the people of Western North Carolina with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

Western North Carolina's recovery from Hurricane Helene continues to move forward.

$34.2 million more in EDA disaster recovery funding was announced for our region, along with a $1.7 million federal investment for Cleveland Community College's new health care training facility. These investments will strengthen infrastructure, support workforce development, create jobs, and help keep our communities competitive for years to come.

$34.2 million is headed to Western North Carolina to support Hurricane Helene recovery and strengthen our region's economy.

I welcomed Paul Dabbar to Asheville to announce these EDA disaster recovery investments, including $29.2 million for A-B Tech's new Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Hub. The funding will also support recovery projects in Murphy, Cullowhee, and communities across Madison, Buncombe, and Henderson counties.
