I’m proud to honor Zion, a remarkable young man and senior cadet at California State University Maritime Academy - Cal Maritime who showed extraordinary courage.

When he saw two people struggling in the water and in danger of drowning, Zion didn’t hesitate. He bravely stepped in and helped rescue them, putting their safety before his own. His quick thinking, courage, and willingness to act in a moment of crisis are a powerful reminder of what true bravery looks like.

Zion has a bright future ahead of him, and I’m honored to recognize a young man who has already made such a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Today marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks on our nation.

Patti and I will never forget the thousands of Americans who were taken from us that day, their loved ones, and were grateful for the first responders who ran toward danger to save others.

9/11 was a day of tremendous loss, but it was also a day when we witnessed the extraordinary resilience of the American spirit. It reminded us that even in our darkest moments, courage, compassion, and love can overcome hate and division.

May we always remember those we lost, and carry that spirit forward.

Her courage, voice, and lifelong commitment to equality opened doors for generations of women and changed the world in ways that will never be forgotten.

I'm demanding the immediate release of more than $7.5 billion in congressionally approved international affairs funding.

These programs fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, malnutrition, and other emerging health threats, saving lives and helping stop outbreaks before they reach America.

The Trump administration must spend these funds and stop putting lives at risk.
