NCDA is a national nonprofit organization comprised of professionals representing more than 550 local governments across the country that administer federally-supported community and economic development, housing and human service programs, including programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), especially the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs. Since 1968, NCDA has been at the forefront in securing effective and responsive housing and community development programs for local governments. The Association provides timely, direct information and technical support to its members on federal housing and community development programs. Our Association serves as a national clearinghouse of ideas for local government officials and federal policy-makers on pertinent national issues affecting America's communities. NCDA provides local government professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a more effective community development administrator.

The award will be presented to the City of Worcester on Friday, January 29. Weston & Sampson assisted with the siting of the relocated Stearns Tavern and helped incorporate the Tavern’s current programming for the Seven Hills Foundation with the adjacent design of a universally accessible playground. #awards #communitydevelopment #congratulations

NCDA will continue it's highly popular CDBG Basics and Subrecipient Management certification courses via an online format, as follows. These courses are more in depth than the primer courses. Participants will have the option of taking an online exam at the conclusion of the course to receive an NCDA completion certificate.

CDBG Basics Class was held in Durham, NC last week.
On June 4-5, the City of Durham, NC hosted the HUD 2019 All Grantee (NC) Conference. The HUD Greensboro Field Office and the City of Durham Community Development Department worked closely together to create a successful conference. Nearly 100 participants from across the state were in attendance. HUD presented the city with a Certificate of Appreciation for hosting the conference.
