Our Story
America's Service Commissions (ASC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing and promoting state service commissions across the United States and territories. Formerly known as the Association of State Service Commissions, ASC is a peer network of governor-appointed commissioners, along with staff from the state service commissions.
ASC's work is focused in three core areas including:

We are here in the City of Charleston, WV, for hosted by America's Service Commissions! Morning fellowship and walk with Volunteer West Virginia over coffee, books at Taylor Books, and of course… Charleston WV Convention & Visitors Bureau treasures like and group selfies with the flower beds. Plus, excited about the conference!
This week, we are highlighting a Community Arts Event organized by ArtistYear AmeriCorps Members Imani and Jacob, who are serving in Denver, CO.
Imani and Jacob helped create the the inaugural Alameda Community Arts Night - a celebration of fine arts at Alameda International Jr. Sr. High School. The festival featured a range of artwork from Alameda's students and from students in its elementary feeder schools, along with live performances by the Alameda Jazz Band, guitar students, Folkorico dance club, and the Colorado Youth Mariachi Ensemble. A teacher at Alameda shared, "It was so great to see the community come out and celebrate all the exciting things we do here at Alameda in our arts departments. I'm hoping this becomes a yearly event!"
