Medicare is currently negotiating drug prices for the first 10 drugs as part of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program, and millions of American seniors will see real relief from Big Pharma’s outrageous prices.
Democrats are just getting started.
The first 10 drugs chosen by the Biden-Harris Administration for the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program accounted for more than $3.4 billion in out-of-pocket costs in 2022.
This is another major step towards lowering health care costs for seniors and families.
Today, U.S. Global Change Research Program, made up of 13 Federal Agencies, released the Fifth National Climate Assessment, citing enormous economic, social, and health impacts of climate change on Americans.

The manufacturers of 10 prescription drugs — including Eliquis, Xarelto and Januvia — will take part in the negotiations.
Twenty years ago, Republicans banned Medicare from negotiating fair prescription drug prices for seniors.
Since then, many seniors have been forced to ration their medications or go without them completely.
Democrats put a stop to Republicans’ gift to Big Pharma with the Inflation Reduction Act and finally empowered Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices.
Now, even with Pharma’s attempts to stop it, lower drug costs are on the way. Medicare began negotiating with companies yesterday!
A federal court judge in Ohio denied Friday an attempt by the US Chamber of Commerce to immediately stop the Biden administration’s implementation of Medicare’s new drug price negotiation program.

Democrat, Republican and independent voters AGREE – American seniors should not pay 3, 4 or 10 times what people in other countries pay for the same prescription drugs.
That’s why Democrats gave Medicare the ability to negotiate lower drug costs for America’s seniors.
The Inflation Reduction Act is also penalizing pharma corporations for unfairly hiking prices.
Yesterday’s announcement was monumental!
Last year, 9 million American seniors took these drugs at a total cost to them of $3.4 billion.
Democrats delivered on price negotiation to make Rx drugs more affordable.
The move represents an unprecedented step in a long political war over the nation’s exorbitant drug costs.
“This is a historic day for health care in America,” says Ranking Member Frank Pallone Jr.
“Today’s announcement begins the process of Medicare negotiating lower prices on these ten drugs and making them more affordable for America’s seniors,” Pallone continued.
