National Council on Problem Gambling raises awareness about problem gambling and gambling addiction. Founded in 1972, NCPG focuses on advocacy, awareness and assistance. NCPG receives no federal funding and relies primarily on donations and the support of friends and Members in three membership classes: state affiliate, corporate, and individual. Purpose NCPG serves as the national advocate for programs and services to assist people and families affected by problem gambling. Vision Improve health and wellness by reducing the personal, social and economic costs of problem gambling. Mission Lead state and national stakeholders in the development of comprehensive policy and programs for all those affected by problem gambling. The National Council is neither for nor against legalized gambling — NCPG exists to help people affected on the entire spectrum of gambling disorder.

    Milestone Centers in Pittsburgh, PA is raising awareness in March for Problem Gambling Awareness Month. This public service video was produced with the help of deaf and hard of hearing clients and staff from Milestone's Integrative Services program.
    So the spouse/former spouse of a "problem gambler" is "better off" dead. Just got hit with something else to "cope with" ... while the problem gambler has still been gambling. The government let him "get away" scot-free in the divorce he filed ... I guess the government is an "enabler" and why not? When problem gamblers keep state coffers full ... despite the costs to others. Advocacy ... where?
