May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

First responders show up on someone elseโ€™s worst day โ€” every single shift.

Behind the uniforms are human beings who carry the weight of trauma, long hours, critical decisions, and the emotional impact of what they see and hear. Mental health education isnโ€™t a luxury in this profession โ€” itโ€™s essential.

Strong responders build strong communities. Taking care of those who take care of us isnโ€™t optional โ€” itโ€™s our responsibility.

On Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who answered the call and never made it home. We remember the voices behind the badge, the families who carry their legacy, and the communities forever changed by their sacrifice.

From dispatch, we know the weight of every โ€œ10-33,โ€ every foot pursuit, every traffic stop that doesnโ€™t feel quite right. We hear the strength in your voices โ€” and sometimes the strain. We clear the air when it gets quiet. We hold our breath with you. And when the worst happens, we never forget.

To those who made the ultimate sacrifice: your watch may have ended, but your impact never will.

To those still out there answering the call: weโ€™ve got your back โ€” today and every day.

Stay safe. Stay strong. We will always be here. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™

To our brave firefighters:

Thank you for responding at 3:17 a.m. with zero complaints (to us, anyway).

Thank you for understanding that when we say, โ€œCaller reports a small smell of smoke,โ€ it could mean anything from burnt toast to a three-alarm inferno.

And thank you for pretending not to hear us triple-tone the station because someone leaned on the console.

Stay safe out there. Weโ€™ll keep the tones coming (sorry in advance). ๐Ÿšจ
