Also, if you've accidentally locked your animal inside your vehicle, please contact a local cab or tow company to come and unlock your door. Law Enforcement cannot unlock your doors for you.

We understand how frustrating it is to be the victim of an online or telephone scam, however; because of the complexity of the multi-jurisdictional or international investigations, these complaints cannot be effectively investigated by local law enforcement. Investigations are generally referred to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) where these types of crimes can be analyzed and connected with similar incidents occurring across the country and around the world. For Victims who have lost money, the local police department can provide a case number for your records but for any phone calls, emails or text messages that you are receiving intending to scam you please go directly to www.ic3.gov to report the incident:

The Sitka Police Department is currently experiencing a total outage of its 911 and non-emergency phone systems due to a fiber optic cable break earlier today.

📣 Big Update from Mat-Su Animal Care & Regulation! 🐾

Effective today, July 1, 2026, Mat-Su Animal Care & Regulation is now providing area-wide service throughout the Mat-Su Borough!

What does this mean?

Residents in Houston, the City of Wasilla, and the City of Palmer will now be served by Mat-Su Animal Care & Regulation for animal-related concerns and complaints.

Our officers will be enforcing Mat-Su Borough Title 24: Animal Care and Regulation. A link to Title 24 is provided below so community members can review the applicable rules and regulations.

Need to report an animal concern or complaint?

Please submit your report through the Mat-Su Problem Reporter. This is the quickest and most efficient way for our team to receive and respond to concerns.
