There will be no Storytime at the Oconee Library in June and July due to other Summer Reading events and programs. Grab a calendar to see all the fun and exciting children’s events planned for the summer!

First, the bad news: we're sorry to announce that access to hoopla for Athens Regional Library System patrons will end on June 30, 2026. While we appreciate the value hoopla brings to our digital collections, the platform's pricing and lending model options have become unsustainable for the library's budget. We appreciate your understanding!
And now, the GREAT news: Kanopy is coming July 1, 2026! You'll be able to enjoy instant access to thousands of critically-acclaimed movies, inspiring documentaries, award-winning foreign films, and more from studios like A24, the BBC, The Criterion Collection, and PBS. Check back for more information on how to start streaming with your library card.

Our library has 2 special events scheduled for this Saturday! The first is part of our History Lecture Series regarding “Project Plowshare”. The second, led by Dr. Greg Brooking, is an examination of Georgia’s last royal governor prior the Revolution. We hope you can join us.

Join us on March 20th from 4-5 PM to make tea cup fairy gardens! This is a great opportunity for your child to learn about planting a succulent and how to care for it—just in time for spring! Registration required and recommended for ages 5 to 12. Opens March 6th.
