Arden Shore currently has an informational display set up at the Grayslake Area Public Library through May 28th. Community members are welcome to stop by to learn more about the foster parenting process, explore resources, and pick up informational materials.

Today, more than 50 frontline healers from across Lake County and northern Cook County gathered at Arden Shore for the inaugural Frontline Healers Plática — a healing-centered space rooted in reflection, connection, culture, and collective care.

This gathering was shaped through collaboration with partners from the National Compadres Network, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation, The Lake County Community Foundation, Casey Family Programs, and community leaders across sectors who recognized the growing strain being carried by those serving immigrant families and communities.

Together with participants from behavioral health, child welfare, healthcare, legal advocacy, philanthropy, and community-based organizations, we created space to pause, reconnect, and honor the weight of the work carried every day in service of others.

Guided in partnership with the National Compadres Network and grounded in the philosophy of La Cultura Cura — Culture Heals — the gathering reminded us that healing and resilience do not happen in isolation. They happen in community.

We are deeply grateful to every participant who showed up fully and helped shape this space with honesty, vulnerability, wisdom, and hope.

Thank you as well to the Lake County Community Foundation and Casey Family Programs for helping create the conditions for this space.

Celebrating all who mother — those who nurture, guide, show up, and hold space for others in ways big and small.

At Arden Shore, we took a moment to pause and care for our caregivers — inviting staff members to create their own bouquets at our very first Flower Bar, because they deserve it. 🌼

Because mothering isn’t just a role — it’s an act of love, care, and commitment that shows up every day in our work and in our lives.

To all who mother: we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you. 💛

Join us for our May session of Running on Love: Mom’s Circle — a space where we show up as we are, pour into ourselves, and build real community together.
This month we’re getting creative with cake decorating in collaboration with Comfort N’ Sweets LLC (yes, you get to decorate a cute cake like the flyer 😍)

And we’re having REAL conversations about resources for our families:

• Kids mental health support

🎨 Tonight at Arden Shore! We’re proud to be part of April ArtWauk by hosting the creative work of young artists from Most Blessed Trinity Academy beginning at 5 PM.

As we recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month, this month reminds us that every child deserves safe spaces to learn, grow, express themselves, and be celebrated. Art is one powerful way children share their voice, imagination, and hope.

We invite the community to stop by, support these talented young artists, and celebrate the bright futures we build when children are surrounded by care and opportunity. 💙
