Last night's Lions club party was our year end celebration. Installation of new 2026 - 2027 Lions officers, presenting a Melvin Jones Fellow Award, and budgeting discussions for project planning in the new Lion Year. We had a big turn out, incoming Members and guests of the Lions. There was great food, good fun and fellowship as we laughed and enjoyed social conversations.

A very special Thank you to Lion Dan Stuart of SC Lions for commencing over our officer installation.

Melvin Jones Fellow Award: Priya Mani

I would like to sincerely thank the Waxhaw Lions family for bestowing this honor upon me. I am truly humbled and grateful to receive the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Receiving this recognition was completely unexpected, and I am deeply touched by your kindness and confidence in me.

This honor would not have been possible without the support, encouragement, guidance, and friendship of so many people in our Lions family. I am grateful to each of you for inspiring me and giving me opportunities to serve our community.

I would also like to dedicate this award to all of our Leo members and Leo parents, whose passion, commitment, and unwavering support have made our club what it is today. Their enthusiasm for service and willingness to give back to the community continue to inspire me every day.

Thank you once again for this incredible honor. I will cherish it and continue to serve with the same dedication and spirit that our Lions and Leos exemplify.

Thank you Waxhaw Community for showing up with love in your hearts!

Today was another successful food drive. Although the day started out with rain and thunder storms, the sun shined brightly on us as we closed out the last hour.

15 boxes of food collected, sorted and delivered to Waxhaw's Ray of Hope Community Outreach Food Pantry.

We would like to give a special thank you to the Food Lion staff in Waxhaw for allowing us to do what we do best to serve our community.

Thank you to all our Lions volunteers who got up and came out in the pouring rain!

Pop Tabs for Childhood Cancer!

To see the amount of aluminum pop tabs the Ronald McDonald House collected for their "2 Million Tabs in 2 Days Challenge" was eye-popping! Club members had been saving them for months, and on 5/28 Waxhaw Lion Lynn Frost brought them to the designated RMC location. The club’s contribution to the event was a literal drop in the bucket compared to folks toting bags and boxes of tabs they had collected. One woman brought in 83 pounds worth!

Thanks so much to everyone who contributed! Our club plans to keep collecting these tabs as an ongoing service project; it's such a great cause.
