Please have multiple ways to get warnings. Have a plan if a storm is to go severe. Make sure your phone is charged. 

The chance of a tornado developing this evening has climbed in east-central Nebraska (Omaha/Council Bluffs/Lincoln/Wahoo).

A quick look at our history suggests this is the highest forecast probability of a tornado in the Omaha area since June 2014.

Please take extra care to prevent wildfires on Tuesday and Thursday as warm, windy, and dry conditions may lead to extreme fire danger in parts of northeast and central Nebraska. Winds will be out of the northwest with gusts up to 35 mph. Thursday will be quite windy and dry once again, although with winds coming from the south at up to 45 mph.

A few pictures from our recent aerial ladder training. Members of the department spent two days training. We gained knowledge and confidence in the setup and operation in various locations and elevations around Wayne. We would like to say a big Thank You to C-Side Consultants for teaching this class.

Just a reminder that you may see fire department apparatus out and about in the community today and tomorrow. This is training for the fire department being taught by C-Side Consultants.

This weekend ( May 2nd & 3rd ) you may see the departments aerial truck at various locations around Wayne. Please don’t be alarmed we are just training with instructors from an outside agency to improve our skills in case there is an actual emergency.
