Over the past two days, our K9 teams have been in Warren, Ohio, at Tri-State Canine Services completing their annual OPOTA recertification training.

This training scenario involved a wanted suspect (decoy) who refused to comply with officers’ commands. After multiple loud verbal K9 warnings were issued and ignored, the K9 was deployed to apprehend the suspect.

These realistic training exercises are essential in ensuring our K9 teams remain prepared, proficient, and ready to serve and protect our community.

Yesterday, Sgt. B. Palmeri was recognized in Charleston, WV by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program for his dedication to Impaired Driving Enforcement. Sgt. Palmeri received an award for being ranked amongst the Top 5 Drug Recognition Experts in the State of West Virginia.
