On May 13, 2026, the Boiler Battalion was honored to celebrate and commission 19 cadets into becoming the Army’s newest 2nd Lieutenants. We also celebrated the commissioning of Wabash College’s 2LT Stuart on May 16. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and are excited to see them use their skills in amazing ways!

Today's senior spotlight is Jahir Montes De Oca. CDT Montes is from Lake Forest California and is studying Aeronautical Engineering and Technology. He branched Aviation, and his summer plans include attending motor track races, off-roading, and AT with his National Guard unit. His favorite ROTC memory was losing a tug-of-war match with SFC Keaton. His favorite college memory was Monday bingo nights with his roommates.

He branched Field Artillery and will serve as camp cadre at Fort Knox before BOLC. Purdue University: Boiler Battalion
Indiana University: Bison Battalion
Indiana University - Indianapolis: Capital Warrior Battalion

The Boiler, Bison, and Capital Warrior Battalions joined forces at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, to conduct a Joint Field Training Exercise (JFTX). They integrated on Friday morning and conducted STX operations to develop unit cohesion and leadership skills.

Today’s senior spotlight is Cadet Tommy LaFromboise. CDT LaFromboise is from Evanston, Illinois, and is majoring in Selling and Sales Management. He branched Logistics and is looking forward to his summer internship before BOLC. His favorite ROTC memory was doing the Bataan Memorial Death March, and his favorite college memory was beating Wisconsin in rowing.

On Sunday, 08 March, Army ROTC hosted a tri-service Murph Challenge, where Cadets and Midshipmen from AFROTC, AROTC, and NROTC, could participate in a workout to honor Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy who was KIA in Afghanistan in 2005. This workout comprises of:
1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
1 mile run
We are honored to continue this tradition of honoring fallen soldiers and remembering their legacy.
