Lady Rockets Softball Schedule for the week of August 31st - September 4th

Monday, Aug 31st - Practice until 4:30.

Tuesday, September 1st - Practice until 4:30

Wednesday, September 2nd - Practice until 4:30

Thursday, September 3rd - Game Day at Fairview with A Team starting at 9:00am and B Team to follow.
*Players will be bused back to Richards after games if not already checked out to follow their normal after school routine

Friday, September 4th - NO after school practice. 6th - 8th grades will practice last hour.

**Parents if you are unable to pick your student up at the sports complex after practice they will be bused back to Richard’s School for pickup.

Staying cool is top priority as we head into what appears to be a hot week!

With temperatures forecasted to reach the 90s next week, we are taking extra steps to keep our students comfortable and hydrated. On any day the temperature hits 95° or hotter, we will be handing out bottles of cold water to all of our bus riders before they head home.

A few quick tips to help your Rocket stay cool:
--Send your student to school with a refillable water bottle each day.
--Dress them in lightweight, breathable clothing.
--Remind them to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Maximize Learning Time: 2025–2026 No-School Days

We love seeing our Rockets in the hallway every single day! To help keep our Rockets in the classroom and focused on learning, we encourage families to use scheduled district days off for routine medical, dental, and personal appointments.

We know life gets busy, but every hour in class helps our students stay engaged, build strong connections, and maximize their academic success.

As students head back to school and our yellow buses return to the roads, Missouri drivers need to be aware of new penalties for illegally passing a stopped school bus, taking effect August 28.

A new Missouri law will increase the penalties and fines for drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses. The law goes into effect Friday, August 28, 2026.

Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Senate Bill 1421 into law in July, which drastically changes the penalties for drivers who don't stop while children are getting on or off school buses. All drivers who fail to stop for a school bus will now incur five points on their driver's license. Missouri's current statute does not automatically add points to licenses for violating school bus traffic laws.

Please slow down, stay alert, and stop for yellow and red bus lights. Protecting our Rockets and keeping our community's children safe on their way to and from school takes all of us.

Our preschool classrooms are officially open, and our newest Rockets are swinging into learning!

Our little learners have spent their first day exploring their jungle-themed classrooms, making new friends, and monkeying around as we kick off a wild and exciting new school year.

A huge thank you to our phenomenal preschool teachers and Early Childhood Center staff for creating such a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment.

It is going to be an unforgettable year at the Early Childhood Center!
