Our thoughts go out the members of the Bargersville Fire Department after one of their members was injured while returning from a call. We pray for a quick and full recovery!

Bargersville Lieutenant Injured While Returning From Mutual Aid Response

This morning, a Bargersville Community Fire Department Lieutenant was injured while Rescue 201 was returning to the district following a mutual aid water rescue in Madison Township.

At approximately 7:56 a.m., Rescue 201 was approaching the roundabout at State Road 144 and Kitchen Road when the crew encountered a fallen tree along the roadway. A branch extending into the roadway entered through the open officer-side window of the apparatus and struck the Lieutenant in the chest.

The Lieutenant was transported to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition. No other members of the crew were injured.

The Lieutenant is with family and fire department representatives. We ask that everyone respect their privacy as they continue to receive care.

We appreciate the support that has already been extended to our department and our injured Lieutenant.

🚧🚧UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURE ALERT 🚧🚧

Road construction season is right around the corner, and we will be making an intersection improvement at Whiteland Rd & Bob Glidden Blvd. Yes, it is a roundabout. Love them or not, they move traffic!

The closure is expected to begin on or after April 1, 2026, and will be closed for approximately 90 days. Crossroad Engineers has been working diligently to extend communication to residents and businesses that are expected to be directly impacted by the closure. We will provide updates on our page and website throughout the project.

More information will be shared as the closure approaches, and we thank you in advance for your patience.

Our hearts go out to the city of Beech Grove, the Beech Grove PD, and the family of Officer Brian Elliot who made the ultimate sacrifice this evening. We also want to pray for healing for the other officer still in the hospital.

Great night seeing everyone out for the Santa Parade in Whiteland!! The crews spent over 8 hours today adding lights to the trucks!! Merry Christmas Whiteland!! 🎅🎅🎄🎄Our crews look forward to this parade every year!! We hope everyone enjoyed the parade!!
