Thunderstorms will rapidly spread north and east this afternoon, some potentially severe. Damaging winds to 70 mph, large hail and a tornado or two may occur. Make sure you have a safe shelter as storms approach.

Multiple rounds of strong to severe storms will occur through this evening, then again on Thursday afternoon and evening. Storms this morning will mostly pose a damaging wind threat. All hazards of severe weather, including tornadoes, are possible this afternoon into this evening. The main hazards on Thursday will be large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rain is expected, which could lead to localized flooding. Be sure to monitor for forecast updates as details will change. Have multiple ways to receive warnings!

With severe weather possible over the next couple of days, now is the time to know where your safe place is located.

👉 For houses and apartments: Get to the lowest level of the building. Go to an interior room away from windows.
👉 If you are in a mobile home, you may need to leave if a tornado watch is issued and head to a safer and more sturdy building. This is to allow you time to get to a safe location before a tornado warning is issued.

Please join us Monday May 25th for our Memorial Day ceremony to honor and remember those who fought and died for our freedoms.
Parade starts at 10am at the Legion building and ends at the Wild Rose HS. Ceremony will be held in the high school gym right after the parade.

Today, the members of the Wild Rose Fire Department pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who gave everything for our freedoms.

We thank all who have served and ask our community to join us in honoring the fallen heroes and the families who carry their memories forward each day.

From all of us at the Wild Rose Fire Department, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
