๐๐ Remembering Dolly Parton
Today, our library family is heartbroken to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.
Dolly was so much more than a country music legend. She was a storyteller, a dreamer, a philanthropist, and a champion for children. She understood the incredible power of a book and believed that every child deserved the opportunity to discover the joy of reading.
Through her Imagination Library, Dolly helped put books into the hands and homes of children, giving little ones the chance to open a book and find a whole new world waiting inside. Her commitment to childhood literacy has reached millions of children and will continue touching lives for generations to come.
As a library, that part of Dolly's legacy holds a very special place in our hearts.
Every time we hand a child a bookโฆ
Every time we watch a child get excited about a storyโฆ
Every time we see a little one discover a character they loveโฆ
we are reminded of why books matter.
Dolly believed in giving children a reason to dream, and she understood that sometimes the beginning of a big dream can be found between the pages of a little book.
We are grateful for the life she lived, the kindness she shared, the music she gave us, and most of all, the countless children she encouraged to read, imagine, and dream.
Her voice may be quiet now, but her story will continue.
Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that a book can change a child's world. ๐โค๏ธ
Rest peacefully, Dolly. Your legacy will live on in every child who opens a book and begins to dream. ๐
