This past Saturday, the Windcrest Police Department had the privilege of attending the Outdoor Classroom Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Windy Hollow Pond.

A special thank you to the Parks & Recreation Commission and the Public Works Department for their hard work and dedication to this beautiful project!

We would like to congratulate everyone that was involved in making this project a reality!

This social media post is an attempt to find the owners of lost property.

The Windcrest Police Department is in possession of lost Debit Card(s) and Cash. There have been 2 separate amounts turned in to the WPD. Both sets of property were found at different locations here in Windcrest. Further details/Specific amounts will be required for verification.

We have also had several pairs of lost keys turned into the WPD.

On May 15, 2026, a pair of sunglasses were found at Takas Park.

On April 19, 2026, a child’s bike was found near the 200 block of Fenwick and turned into the WPD.

On April 13, 2026, A cell phone wrapped in white paper was found at the Civic Center under the Canopy.

If you are missing any of these items, please contact our CST, Donald Borner of the Windcrest Police Department at (210) 655-0022 Ext. 2253.
Specific descriptive details will be required in order to pick up your lost items. For example: Make and Model, Color, Specific dollar amounts.

Congratulations to Chief Ellis for completing the second portion of TCOLE mandated training required for all new police chiefs in Texas. This week he joined nearly 150 other Texas police chiefs in Conroe, TX at the week long Texas Police Chief Leadership Series (TPCLS) Course. It was a great week of learning and networking for all in attendance. Chief Ellis attended this training with other San Antonio area police chiefs.

A special and momentous occasion took place earlier this evening. Windcrest Fire Dept. Firefighter
K. Hauger was sworn in as a member of the Windcrest Police Dept. This represents another significant step toward the continued growth and development of the Windcrest Fire and Police Rescue Task Force concept. Fire Chief Hernandez and Police Chief Ellis remain committed to incorporating cross-training between the departments in betterment of our community.

We invite all residents to join us for our police memorial ceremony as we pay tribute to our fallen heroes.
