Town of Winn is looking to fill the following positions:
- Code Enforcement Officer (part-time)
The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for the administration and enforcement of all Town ordinances, as well as applicable State and Federal laws, including building, zoning, land use, and shore land zoning regulations. Key responsibilities are conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building permits and land use ordinances. Investigate complaints regarding violations, issue violation notices and follow through to ensure compliance.
The ideal candidate would possess 2-4 years of experience in construction trade, building inspection or municipal code enforcement. Be proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, strong communication, detail orientated and be committed to ensuring good working relationships with all constituencies. Additionally, the ideal candidate would possess a high school education or equivalent, and a valid Maine Driver’s license. Municipal Certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months from date of hire.
- Assessor (part-time)
The Assessor performs specialized administrative and technical work in the valuation of real and personal property. This role is responsible for appraising residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure all assessments remain equitable and compliant with Maine State Law and Bureau of Taxation regulations. Candidates must hold a valid Maine Certified Assessor (CMA) designation or have the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe. Qualifications include experience in property valuation, a thorough knowledge of building construction and real estate finance, and proficiency with TRIO Web and Microsoft Office products. A valid Maine Driver’s License and the ability to complete 16 annual credit hours of continuing education are required.
