Library mail makes our day 📬

We received thoughtful letters from local elementary students learning about local government. They wrote to share ideas, ask questions, and suggest ways to make the library even better.

Our librarian wrote back addressing everything from a student’s request for the book “Where Is Antarctica?” to questions about library budgets and laptop checkout. And yes, even when all the computers are in use, Minecraft and Roblox can continue! 😄

We love seeing students engage with their library and community in such thoughtful ways.

We're grateful to everyone who participated in our first community engagement events for the R.H. Stafford Library Redesign Project! Participants shared what they love about the library now, and what new spaces, features, or programs could make an amazing library in the future.

There's still plenty of time to share your thoughts about the library. An online survey is open through May 29, and sticker boards are on display at the library.

There will also be more community engagement events this year as the project moves forward. Learn more and take the community survey: WashingtonCountyMN.gov/RHStaffordLibraryProject

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19, from 5:30-7 p.m. to share your vision and ideas for the future of R.H. Stafford Library!

During our first community engagement workshop with MSR Design, you can help shape which services and spaces will be priorities in the redesigned library. We'll also explore how the library can contribute to the community's identity and diversity. This event will include a brief presentation and time for group discussion.

Storytime is taking a short spring break!

There will be no storytimes at any WashCoLib branches from Monday, May 18, through Sunday, May 31, while our librarians get ready for a summer full of programs and fun.

You can still stop by the library to play, explore, and enjoy toys and activities in our children’s areas during the break.

Regular storytimes return June 1. Visit WashCoLib.org/Storytime for upcoming dates.
