Doherty High Booster Club A partnership of volunteer parents and school administration who help support the funding of the academic, art, and athletic clubs and organizations.

What is the Doherty Memorial High School Booster Club? A partnership of parents and school administrators who care about the quality of children’s education, both during and after school. We play an important role in assuring that Doherty is able to provide a wide range of activities which benefit many students. Despite continued budget cuts, Worcester schools do not charge fees for school activi

ties. They need funding to continue. We support Homecoming and many types of student groups in athletics, academics, and the arts. What do we do?
ß We raise money to enhance and expand student activities, such as
o $400 for a school musical production for staging and costumes
o $400 for our math team to help pay for transportation costs to competitions
o $400 to Youth and Government and $220 to the Envirothon team to offset transportation costs
o $400 to the baseball team for uniforms
o $400 to the Robotics team to offset transportation costs
o $195 to the boys soccer team for new balls
o $400 to the girls field hockey team for new equipment
o $400 to the 2009 and 2010 yearbook committee
o $400 to the senior banquet committee for help pay for letters and pins
o $400 to The National Honor Society committee for ceremony costs
ß We email daily school announcements to parents
ß We staff tables at Know Your School Night
ß We sell “Doherty wear” at school functions

All fundraising comes through a variety of volunteer activities. We track our income and expenses at monthly meetings. What can I do?
ß Join us! Bring your ideas!
ß Sell t-shirts at football games, lunchtimes and school events
ß Volunteer for a one-time fund-raising project
ß Make a donation to support your child’s activities, checks payable to Doherty Booster Club, 299 Highland St., Worcester 01602

Doherty Football and Doherty Booster Club provided sandwiches, drinks and chips to the visiting team postgame, while Doherty enjoyed pizzas and drinks donated by Antonio's Pizza by The Slice Kitchen & Bar Worcester, a valuable community partner.

The Doherty boys basketball trip to the Elite 8 didn’t end the way we hoped, but what an incredible season! Booster Club made the trip and supplied the team, as well as our amazing cheerleaders, with post-game sandwiches, drinks and goodies.
