It was a great opportunity to connect with community members and share who we are and what we stand for. We provided important information about individuals’ rights to Voice and Choice in their recovery journey.

We also had the opportunity to build new relationships with community partners and stakeholders, strengthen advocacy throughout the Yakima Valley, and promote coalition building, collaboration, and better coordination of recovery services.

Together, we are building a stronger recovery community in the Yakima Valley.

Today was a meaningful opportunity to visit with Commissioner Kyle Curtis and talk about what sets our recovery housing apart and what our community still needs.

For many of us, this day is personal. We have lost family members, friends, and loved ones to overdose. It is a day of sadness, remembrance, and also hope.

Our community has made progress, but there is still much more work to do. We need greater education, stronger coordination, and real collaboration among community partners to create long-term solutions that save lives and support people in recovery.

Together, we can turn awareness into action.

But love conquers division. That’s why we choose to love others, even when they don’t always treat us with the same love.

Voice & Choice: Are people seeking recovery housing truly being given the right to choose where they live? More importantly, are they being educated about that right and given accurate information about all available housing options?

Voice and Choice only works when people actually have a choice.
