The Yeadon Police Department is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy O’Connor, who was killed in the line of duty last night.

We extend our deepest condolences to Corporal O’Connor’s family, friends, and the entire Pennsylvania State Police family during this incredibly difficult time. The courage, dedication, and sacrifice required to serve and protect our communities never go unnoticed, and this loss is felt deeply across the entire law enforcement community.

Please join us in keeping Corporal O’Connor’s loved ones, as well as his brothers and sisters in the Pennsylvania State Police, in your thoughts and prayers.

What an incredible day for a great cause! On Friday, February 20, 2026, Sgt. Anthony “Tony” Johnson and Chief Giammarco proudly represented the Yeadon Police Department at the annual Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics in the greater Philadelphia area.

This year, 108 law enforcement participants braved the icy waters outside Citizens Bank Park, raising nearly $23,000 to support the amazing Special Olympics athletes.

We were definitely freezing for a reason, and we couldn’t be prouder to take part in such a meaningful event that celebrates courage, inclusion, and community spirit.

Important Message from Yeadon Borough. Mayor Hepkins has declared a Snow Emergency effective 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, through 8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

No parking is permitted on designated Snow Emergency Routes during this time. Vehicles traveling on these routes must be equipped with snow tires or chains.

Parking enforcement on other restricted streets will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Snow Emergency.

01/26/2026

Good afternoon, Yeadon,

With a major snowstorm predicted, the Yeadon Police Department would like to remind everyone of a few important parking rules to help keep our streets safe, accessible, and neighborly.

Parking spaces on public streets are first‑come, first‑served. Saving a parking spot using cones, chairs, buckets, dressers, trash cans, or any other objects is not permitted and will result in removal of the items.

We understand that digging out after a snowstorm takes time and effort, and we truly appreciate the hard work residents put into clearing their vehicles. That said, once a space is cleared, it becomes available for all no matter how impressive the snow shoveling skills were.

Please be courteous and patient with one another, especially during and after the storm. A little cooperation goes a long way toward keeping Yeadon safe, mobile, and friendly.

Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation.

Stay warm and safe,
Yeadon Police Department

01/23/2026

Good morning, Yeadon,

Please be advised that due to the pending forecast of a major snowstorm expected to impact our area, parking restrictions for “Parking Prohibited Certain Hours” will be temporarily lifted for next week only. Monday January 26, 2026, to Friday January 30, 2026.

The usual requirements to move vehicles on specific days and during certain hours will be suspended during next week only. This means residents do not need to move their vehicles for scheduled parking restrictions while the suspension is in effect.

However, illegally parked vehicles such as those blocking fire hydrants, driveways, intersections, parked against traffic, or emergency access, Etc., will still be subject to enforcement.

Please use caution, allow room for snow removal and emergency vehicles, and plan accordingly during the storm.

Stay safe and stay warm, everyone.

Today the Yeadon Borough Police Department reached a milestone!

Due to the dedication and hard work of the members of our agency we reached the status of “Accredited Agency” through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.

This was a long road and shows how dedicated your officers are to providing professional police services to whomever lives in, visits, or travels through our beautiful borough.
