YSU Maag Library The William F. Maag, Jr. Library serves Youngstown State University and the community. Theres is a branch in the Beeghly College of Education.

The library contains books, study aids, music scores, the University Archives, and many online resources. The Department of Archives & Special Collections of the William F. Library of Youngstown State University serves two distinct functions. Archives serve as the official and final repository for the historical records of Youngstown State University (previously known as Youngstown College) from i

ts establishment in 1908 to the present time. The Special Collections serve as an archival repository for historical materials which are neither official university records nor faculty papers, but which relate to the history and culture of the geographical region of which YSU is a part. This includes the city of Youngstown, the Mahoning County and the Mahoning Valley.

Maag Library will be closed Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. We re-open Saturday, June 20th at 9 a.m.

Here are a couple images of Maag Library's newest residences, the hawk hatchlings. The nest can actually be viewed from the 3rd floor on the east side of the building. These babies will stay in their nest for about 42-49 days before venturing on their own. We believe these are Red-Shoulder Hawks, since those hawks have nested in the nearby trees in the past. Red-shoulder hawks can be heard and seen around Maag Library. There's a nest in the trees on east side of the building.
