10:00 PM UPDATE: The City of Yukon utility crews have completed repairs following a water main break that previously impacted system water pressure across the city.
Water pressure is now fully restored, and city water towers are steadily returning to normal operating levels. City workers have conducted thorough monitoring across the affected area and confirmed no additional leaks exist.
No contaminants were found in the water during the incident. To ensure complete regulatory compliance and long-term stability, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) recommends, as a precaution, to boil water for 72 hours after repairs are complete. Repairs were completed around 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 3.
"Our crews worked tirelessly to isolate the break, complete repairs, and safely restore water pressure throughout the community," said Jeff Deckard, City Manager for the City of Yukon. "We deeply appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents while our team stabilized the system."
As storage tanks continue refilling to maximum capacity, the City asks residents to continue practicing temporary water conservation—specifically refraining from outdoor lawn watering and washing vehicles—through Sunday evening.
