It is our goal to provide information about our school to parents, staff, students, community members, and stakeholders. High School’s social media pages are managed by school administration for the purpose of sharing events, achievements, emergency information, and other news. To protect the rights and privacy of Yum

a School District One students and staff, page administrators reserve the right to remove any comments (especially those deemed inappropriate or malicious) at any time, for any reason. The following social media terms and conditions apply to any official District One social media page, including official social media pages of any of its schools. Comment Removal
Page Administrators reserve the right to remove any comments made on Woodard Jr. High’s posts that contain:
-Conduct that violates the terms and conditions of the applicable social media platform (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
-Illegal conduct or encouragement of illegal activity
-Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates prohibited discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation
-Conduct that is threatening, inciting, harassing, or bullying
-Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party, such as copyright or trademark infringement
-Information that is false
-Content that compromises the safety or security of District One, any of its schools, staff, or students
-Personnel information, individually identifiable student information, or other confidential material
-Profane language or content
-Promotions of services or products
-Promotions of political candidates or organizations
-Sexual harassment or sexual content
-Solicitations of commerce or advertisements including promotion or endorsement
-Spam or comments that include links to external online sites, including comments that are unrelated to the original post
-Conduct that is otherwise in violation of School Board policies or that reasonably may lead to the substantial disruption of or material interference with District One school operations

Comments in violation of these terms and conditions may be removed from the applicable District One official social media platform. Continued or egregious violations may prompt District One to further restrict an individual’s commenting on official District One social media platforms. Notices
Individuals should be aware that their comments are public and may be subject to the Freedom of Information Act and records retention requirements. District One may be obligated to retain public comments in its records and/or disclose the information if requested. Public comments expressed on District One’s social media pages do not reflect the opinions and position of the District One School Board, District One, and its schools, officers and employees. By posting to District One’s social media pages, you acknowledge and agree to the Code of Conduct set forth from the district.

Thank you to the Yuma Fire Department for helping our 6th graders enjoy a fun water day!

All of Woodard's students get to go on field trips! Our dedicated teachers plan several experiences for our students on and off campus all throughout the year, including Water Day, Movie Day at Harkins, Bowling and Pizza at Wild River, Universal Studios Los Angeles, Yuma Territorial Prison, Career Day, Guest Speakers, Drive in the Desert, Bowling at Inca Lanes, Sea Life Aquarium in Tempe, Arizona Western College, Kofa High School CTE, Kofa High School Jr. High Student Council Conference, and more!

This special recognition was awarded to students who were selected by their coaches for exemplifying what it truly means to be a Roadrunner. These student-athletes consistently demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, and teamwork both on and off the field.

Our Athletes of the Year are more than just talented competitors; they are positive role models who balance multiple sports in and out of school while maintaining strong academics and excellent citizenship across the board. Their commitment, character, and hard work make them shine in every arena.

Roadrunner Nation!

We are proud to celebrate the 23 students who scored Proficient on the Spring AZELLA exam! The Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) measures students’ English language proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Achieving proficiency is a major accomplishment that reflects tremendous dedication, perseverance, and growth.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our English Language Development teacher, Miss Lopez, for her hard work, commitment, and support in helping our students succeed. We also want to recognize and thank our families for their partnership and encouragement throughout the year. Your support makes all the difference!

A special thank you to Avenir Financial for generously donating $25 Harkins Theatres gift cards to each of our proficient students as a reward for their achievement and hard work.

We would also like to thank Board Vice President, Mr. David Ibarra, for attending the celebration banquet and sharing words of encouragement and inspiration with our students and families.

Finally, thank you to our AVID Ambassadors who donated their time to serve at the banquet. You are a true representation of what it means to give to your community!

What a season for our Flag Football team! Our student-athletes showed tremendous heart, teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship every time they stepped onto the field. We are so proud of the growth, perseverance, and effort they demonstrated throughout the season.

A huge thank you to Coach Friends and Coach Hinton for your leadership, commitment, and the countless hours you dedicated to our athletes. Your guidance helped create an unforgettable season and positive experience for our students.

Your Southern Yuma County Interscholastic Association (SYCIA) City Champions!

Their trophy added to our impressive 8 trophies for this school year, more than any other middle school!

Here are your 2026 District 7th Grade Volleyball Champions. These girls defeated Southwestern for the title at Woodard. 7th grade athletes brought home a trophy for each sport this year.

We also would like to recognize Mrs. Stephens on a terrific season coaching these girls and bringing home the district championship.

Our Woodard dancers recently took Center Stage during their incredible Spring Dance Showcase! Students in Dance I/II and Dance III performed a variety of powerful and inspiring routines that celebrated the strength, confidence, and resilience of women through movement and expression.

The evening showcased not only the talent and creativity of our students, but also their courage, teamwork, and dedication to the performing arts. We are so proud of our dancers for sharing their passion and hard work with our community.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing dance director, Miss Alonzo, for her leadership, vision, and commitment to helping students grow both as dancers and as individuals.

We would also like to give a huge congratulations to our 7th grade volleyball team and Coach Stephens and Coach Bingham for an incredible accomplishment of bringing home the SYCIA City Championship Title and a 1st Place Trophy! 🏆 Your teamwork, perseverance, and competitive spirit led to an unforgettable season and a championship victory for the Roadrunner Nation!

🎶 Where Academics, Athletics, and the Arts Matter! 🎶

Our End-of-the-Year Music Department Concert was a true celebration of talent, dedication, and the power of the arts at Woodard! Check out incredible performances from all six of our music ensembles: Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Advanced Band, Jazz Band, Choir, and Orchestra. 🎺🎷🎻🎤

A program of this magnitude does not happen overnight. Behind every performance are countless hours of rehearsals, lesson planning, before and after-school practices, performances, preparation, and an unwavering commitment to students from our Music Department Director, Mrs. Lynch, whose leadership creates opportunities for students to grow both musically and personally. 👏

During the evening, several individual students were also recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the program. We are so proud of the hard work, perseverance, and excellence demonstrated by our talented Roadrunners!

A special thank you goes out to our amazing Music Booster parents whose countless hours of volunteering, organizing, fundraising, and support help make this program possible. Your partnership and dedication mean the world to our students and staff. ❤🎶💙

Finally, thank you to Governing Board Member, Mr. Stoner, for organizing this year’s music department fundraiser and supporting arts education in District One. Thank you also to Governing Board Member, Mr. Ibarra, and Associate Superintendent, Mrs. Lagunas, for attending the concert and supporting the amazing opportunities available to Woodard students.
