⚡ Power outage update - Steynsburg

Residents are advised that an 11 kV power line has been damaged, with poles falling between Mertlasham and Woodlands farms.

The Municipality is attending to the matter and will provide further updates on the repairs and restoration of electricity.

⚡ Power outage update - Burgersdorp

Residents are informed that some areas in Burgersdorp are still without electricity due to damage to the power cables.

The affected areas include Geyer Street and Kort Street.

A 200 kVA transformer was also damaged by lightning, affecting parts of Queenstown Road, Schweizer Street and Loko Street.

The Municipality is busy with the process of getting a contractor to carry out the necessary repairs.

Residents will be kept updated on progress and when power is expected to be restored.

🚧 Street Maintenance in Burgersdorp
Maintenance work is underway, recently the team was at work on Hendrick Potgieter Street as well as Jan Greyling street in Burgersdorp, as part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions and ensure safer, more accessible streets for residents and road users.

🌿⚡ Bush clearing programme – possible electricity outages

Maletswai residents are advised that bush clearing activities will take place from Tuesday, 1 September 2026, throughout September and October 2026 in the following streets:

• Princess Margaret
• Carinus
• Cathcart
• Margaret
• Benson
• Duncan
• Potgieter
• Aliwal
• Smith
• Chase
• Louis Botha

The work may result in temporary electricity interruptions in the affected areas. Residents are encouraged to make the necessary preparations.
