📢 PUBLIC NOTICE: OFFICE CLOSURE

The Pixley ka Seme District Municipality wishes to inform the public that its offices will be closed on Monday, 15 June 2026.

Normal business operations will resume on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 at 07h30 following the Youth Day public holiday on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

ORDINARY COUNCIL MEETING
28.05.2026

DE AAR - Today, 28 May 2026, the Speaker of Pixley ka Seme District Municipality, Cllr Thandiwe Sintu, convened an Ordinary Council Meeting attended by the Honourable Executive Mayor Cllr UR Itumeleng, Members of the Mayoral Committee and Councillors.

The administrative delegation was led by the Municipal Manager, Mr Isak Visser.

During the sitting, Cllr P Hufkie of the Democratic Alliance (DA) was officially sworn in by local Magistrate Ms D De Gorvalla.

Council considered and tabled various important items including:

1 Financial Reports

2 Reports from Portfolio Committees

3 The appointment of a new Audit Performance Committee (APC),

4 The tabling of the final budget 2026/27 of the current Council by the Executive Mayor

5 The Integrated Development Plan (IDP)

6 Various municipal policies

7 As well as the Council Year Planner.

The meeting was conducted in a positive and constructive spirit, with the Speaker expressing appreciation to all Councillors, officials and stakeholders for their participation and commitment to good governance.

GCIS will on 28 May 2026 implement Local Government Thursdays (LG Thursdays) Radio Talk shows.

Talk shows are weekly radio programmes where various municipalities across the country get an opportunity to present , unpack and discuss key priorities of their Municipalities as contained in the Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) covering water provisioning, infrastructure development, local economic development initiatives as well as basic services.

Key messengers to these programmes are political principals, key local government messengers and subject matter experts in LG and their communities.
