HB Phillips building brought back a lot of memories.

I remember coming here as a young councillor for meetings. Today, it’s a shadow of what it once was. Parts of this municipal facility are being stripped while public assets are left unprotected.

Unfortunately, taxpayers’ property is being stripped and sold as scrap metal by people trying to put food on the table.

How many streetlights in Tshwane are burning during the day instead of lighting our streets at night?💡

My second mayoral pledge is to introduce outcome-based contracts, so service providers are paid for working streetlights at night, not for sending invoice after invoice while residents are left in the dark.

The Pretoria High Court has confirmed that tomorrow, Wednesday 29 July 2026, it will hear our urgent challenge against the unlawful suspension of Tshwane City Manager Johann Mettler. ⚖️🏛️
