Today, SAFCOL Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sibalo Dlamini, led a tree planting initiative at the Mbombela Correctional Centre in support of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment’s (DFFE) One BillionTrees Campaign.

The event brought together employees, and correctional service officials to reinforce our collective commitment to environmental stewardship, and biodiversity preservation.

This initiative marks the beginning of a broader rollout, with further company-led and stakeholder-supported tree planting activities scheduled across SAFCOL’s operational footprints.

Happy Heritage Day .

Our Heritage , Our SAFCOL

22/09/2026

We had the pleasure of hosting delegates from the Kingdom of Lesotho's Department of Environment and Forestry during a bilateral engagement and study tour in South Africa. The visit to our facilities provided valuable insights into our nursery operations and mechanised harvesting practices. This was a meaningful and enriching interaction, offering an opportunity for knowledge sharing, mutual learning, and the strengthening of relations between our two countries in the forestry and environmental sectors.

As we approach 24 September 2026, SAFCOL is proud to support the 1 Billion Tree Campaign, a national initiative led by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE).

This campaign calls on all South Africans to unite and plant 10 million trees in a single day, contributing to the broader vision of planting one billion trees over five years.

Every tree planted is a powerful step towards restoring our environment, protecting biodiversity, combating climate change, and creating a greener legacy for generations to come.
