ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION PAYS COURTESY CALL ON SHIBUYUNJI TOWN COUNCIL
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Shibuyunji Town Council Secretary, Mr Oscar Chilanga, during the Commission's visit to Shibuyunji District.
The ACC team was led by Ms Naomi C. Banja and comprised Mr Nsama Augustine, Ms Annie K. Bento, and Mr Mulenga Mwansa.
The Commission was in the district to conduct community sensitisation on electoral offences ahead of the forthcoming General Elections. The sensitisation programme was aimed at raising public awareness on electoral corruption and other electoral offences, while promoting integrity and ethical conduct throughout the electoral process.
During the engagement, the Commission highlighted the importance of reporting suspected electoral corruption and shared its toll-free reporting line, 5980, which members of the public can use to report electoral corruption and other corruption-related offences.
Speaking during the courtesy call, Mr Oscar Chilanga welcomed the Anti-Corruption Commission to Shibuyunji District and commended the Commission for undertaking the sensitisation programme. He said the initiative would go a long way in increasing public awareness of electoral offences and strengthening the integrity of the electoral process.
The meeting concluded with both institutions expressing their commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity through continued collaboration and public sensitisation initiatives.
