The Delegation of the European Union to Albania is supporting the country in its path towards integration into the EU. The Delegation manages EU Assistance programmes and informs the Albanian public, decision-makers and opinion-formers about the integration its policies. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Albania is a permanent diplomatic mission. The Delegation was establishe

d in 1993 when the European Commission decided to upgrade its Office of the Special Envoy to a full Delegation in the light of the positive democratic development, which had taken place. The Delegation's main tasks are the following:
• Facilitate the development of political and economic relations between the EU and Albania in the framework of the Stabilization and Association Process (SAP), which is the strategy for helping Albania in its path towards integration into the EU.
• Managing EU Assistance programmes.
• Disseminating information on the EU, informing the Albanian general public, decision-makers and opinion formers about the integration process, EU institutions and its policies. Head of Delegation of the European Union in Albania, since August 2022, is Ms Christiane Hohmann.

Kjo ishte “Shikim dhe Tingull”, ekspozita dhe performanca që erdhi në Javën e Evropës nga Donika Çina, Diego Zelka, Gerta Xhaferaj dhe Erlind Hoxha, si një përvojë imersive që ftoi publikun ta përjetojë artin ndryshe.

This was “Sight and Sound”, the exhibition and performance that came to Europe Week by Donika Çina, Diego Zelka, Gerta Xhaferaj and Erlind Hoxha, as an immersive experience that invited the public to experience art differently.

Ndërtimi i një shoqërie më të qëndrueshme nis me kujdesin ndaj më të dobtëve.
Sot u prezantuan gjetjet e studimit “Të moshuarit në epokën digjitale”, i zhvilluar në kuadër të projektit të financuar nga BE “Brezi i Artë përballë Dezinformimit”, i zhvilluar nga Faktoje.

Studimi analizon mënyrën se si të moshuarit në Shqipëri marrin informacion online, sfidat me të cilat përballen nga dezinformimi, si dhe nevojën në rritje për aftësi digjitale dhe edukim mediatik. Përmes trajnimeve, kërkimit dhe aktiviteteve ndërgjegjësuese, projekti angazhoi drejtpërdrejt qindra të moshuar për të kuptuar më mirë përvojat e tyre dhe për të forcuar imunitetin e tyre ndaj manipulimit online.

“Teksa përpiqen të përshtaten me botën digjitale, shumë të moshuar përballen me rreziqe dhe sfida të reja. E vlerësova shumë faktin që Faktoje kërkoi kontakt të drejtpërdrejtë me të moshuarit, jo vetëm për t’i ndihmuar, por edhe për të dëgjuar shqetësimet e tyre. Projekte të tilla tregojnë anën njerëzore dhe përkujdesëse të BE-së,” tha Ambasadori i BE-së, Silvio Gonzato.

Building a resilient society starts by catering for the most vulnerable.
Today, we presented the findings of “Seniors in the Digital Age”, a study developed under the EU-funded project “The Golden Generation Facing Disinformation” implemented by Faktoje.

The study investigates how older adults in Albania consume information online, the challenges they face from , and the growing need for digital and skills. Through workshops, research and awareness-raising activities, the project engaged directly with hundreds of senior citizens to better understand their experiences and strengthen their resilience against online manipulation.

“While trying to adapt to the digital world, many senior citizens are exposed to new risks and challenges. I really appreciated that Faktoje sought direct contact with senoir people, not just to help them, but to listen to their concerns. Projects of this kind show the caring and human face of the EU,” EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.

Mozaiku i Bazilikës B në Bylis është restauruar, duke ndihmuar në ruajtjen e një pjese të rëndësishme të trashëgimisë kulturore të Shqipërisë 🇦🇱.

Në Parkun Arkeologjik të Bylisit, restaurimi u realizua përmes projektit të financuar nga BE 🇪🇺 “BE për Zhvillim Ekonomik – Zhvillimi Ekonomik Lokal përmes Turizmit, me fokus Trashëgiminë Kulturore”, i bashkëfinancuar dhe zbatuar nga AICS 🇮🇹, në partneritet me Ministrinë e Turizmit, Kulturës dhe Sportit.

Përmes modelit Scuola Cantiere / Kantier i Hapur Restaurimi, puna në mozaik u kthye edhe në një eksperiencë praktike për studentë, pedagogë, profesionistë të trashëgimisë dhe komunitetin lokal, nën drejtimin e ekspertëve shqiptarë dhe ndërkombëtarë.

Një mozaik i restauruar. Aftësi të reja. Kapacitete më të forta lokale. Kështu e mbështet BE-ja kulturën, turizmin dhe zhvillimin lokal në Shqipëri.

The mosaic of Basilica B in Bylis has been restored, helping preserve an important part of Albania’s 🇦🇱 cultural heritage.

At the Archaeological Park of Bylis, the restoration was carried out through the EU-funded 🇪🇺 project “EU for Economic Development – Tourism-led Local Economic Development, with a Focus on Cultural Heritage”, co-funded and implemented by AICS 🇮🇹 in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

Through the Scuola Cantiere / Open Restoration Site model, the work on the mosaic also became a hands-on learning experience for students, professors, heritage professionals and the local community, guided by Albanian and international experts.

A restored mosaic. New skills. Stronger local capacities. This is how the EU supports culture, tourism and local development in Albania.

Aftësitë janë në qendër të së ardhmes së Shqipërisë, dhe pikërisht ky ishte fokusi i Konferencës Kombëtare për Arsimin dhe Formimin Profesional. Institucione, partnerë, shkolla profesionale, qendra të formimit profesional, biznese dhe të rinj u bënë bashkë për të diskutuar se si Shqipëria mund të ndërtojë një sistem aftësish më të përgatitur për të ardhmen. Ndërsa vendi avancon në rrugën drejt BE-së, arsimi dhe formimi profesional mbetet thelbësor për të lidhur të rinjtë me mundësi reale në tregun e punës, për të mbështetur bizneset me profesionistë të kualifikuar dhe për të forcuar konkurrueshmërinë afatgjatë të Shqipërisë. Bashkimi Evropian do të vijojë të mbështesë reformat që modernizojnë AFP-në, nxisin mësimin në vendin e punës, të nxënit gjatë gjithë jetës dhe mundësi më gjithëpërfshirëse punësimi.

“Një forcë pune e kualifikuar duhet të jetë shtylla kryesore e ekonomisë shqiptare. Skills are at the heart of Albania’s future, and this was the focus of the National VET Conference. Institutions, partners, VET providers, businesses and young people came together to discuss how Albania can build a more future-ready skills system. As the country advances on its EU path, vocational education and training remains essential to connect young people with real labour market opportunities, support businesses with qualified professionals, and strengthen Albania’s long-term competitiveness. The European Union will continue to support reforms that modernise VET, promote work-based learning, lifelong learning and more inclusive employment opportunities.

“A highly skilled workforce should be the backbone of the Albanian economy. By investing in skills, strengthening cooperation between education and business, and making vocational education more responsive to labour market needs, Albania is investing in its people, its competitiveness and its European future,” said André Rizzo, Head of Political Section at the EU Delegation to Albania.

Kur flasim për pyjet, shpeshherë kemi parasysh vetëm pemët. 🌳

Në të vërtetë, ato janë zemra e biodiversitetit dhe “shtëpia” e mbi 80% të specieve tokësore, nga zogjtë dhe insektet, te bimët dhe gjitarët e egër.

Pyjet pastrojnë ajrin, prodhojnë oksigjenin që thithim, ruajnë ujin dhe ndihmojnë në zbutjen e efekteve të ndryshimeve klimatike.

Megjithatë, çdo vit humbasim miliona hektarë pyje, duke rrezikuar biodiversitetin dhe vetë jetën në tokë. Kur mbrojmë pyjet, mbrojmë shumë më tepër se sa drurët, mbrojmë natyrën, të ardhmen tonë.

Mbro natyrën, sa je në kohë. ☘️

When we talk about forests, we often think only of trees. 🌳

In reality, they are the heart of biodiversity and the “home” to over 80% of terrestrial species, from birds and insects to plants and wild mammals.

Forests purify the air, produce the oxygen we breathe, preserve store water, and help reduce the effects of climate change.

Yet, every year, millions of hectares of forests are lost, putting biodiversity and life on Earth at risk. Protecting forests, means protecting much more than nature; it means protecting our future.

Toka nuk është thjesht sipërfaqja apo gurët mbi të cilët ecim. Ajo është një botë e gjallë nën këmbët tona, plot jetë, procese dhe ekuilibra që shpesh nuk i shohim, por që ndikojnë drejtpërdrejt në jetën tonë të përditshme.

Kur toka dëmtohet, preket gjithçka: ushqimi ynë, ekuilibri i natyrës dhe e ardhmja jonë. Prandaj, kujdesi për të nuk është zgjedhje, por domosdoshmëri.

Mbro tokën, ajo mban jetën.

Soil is not just the ground or the rocks we walk on. It is a living world beneath our feet, full of life, processes, and balances that we often cannot see, yet that directly affect our daily lives.

When it is damaged, everything is affected, from our food to the balance of nature, and our future. That is why caring for it is not a choice, but a necessity.

Për vite me radhë, Rusia ka tentuar ta paraqesë ushtrinë e saj si “të pathyeshme”. Por që prej vitit 2014, Ukraina ka treguar se ky imazh është ndërtuar mbi propagandë dhe gënjeshtra. Sot, edhe pse lufta vazhdon, Ukraina ka arritur të ndalë përparimin rus në shumë drejtime dhe të rrëzojë disa nga pretendimet më të përsëritura të Kremlinit.

Lake Shkodra has been designated a UNESCO Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, under the “Man and the Biosphere” Programme.

We are proud to have supported this achievement through an EU-funded project, which prepared the nomination file by highlighting the natural wealth, biodiversity, traditions, culture, and heritage of the lake’s entire catchment area.
