The Delegation of the European Union to Albania is supporting the country in its path towards integration into the EU. The Delegation manages EU Assistance programmes and informs the Albanian public, decision-makers and opinion-formers about the integration its policies. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Albania is a permanent diplomatic mission. The Delegation was established in 1993 when the European Commission decided to upgrade its Office of the Special Envoy to a full Delegation in the light of the positive democratic development, which had taken place. The Delegation's main tasks are the following:
• Facilitate the development of political and economic relations between the EU and Albania in the framework of the Stabilization and Association Process (SAP), which is the strategy for helping Albania in its path towards integration into the EU.
• Managing EU Assistance programmes.
• Disseminating information on the EU, informing the Albanian general public, decision-makers and opinion formers about the integration process, EU institutions and its policies. Head of Delegation of the European Union in Albania, since August 2022, is Ms Christiane Hohmann.

Për të rinjtë, integrimi në Bashkimin Evropian do të thotë më shumë mundësi për të studiuar, udhëtuar, punuar dhe përfituar nga projektet evropiane. 🇪🇺🇦🇱

Studentë dhe profesionistë të rinj diskutuan dje në Europe House se çfarë sjell anëtarësimi në BE në praktikë dhe çfarë mund të mësohet nga përvoja e Kroacisë 🇭🇷 në këtë proces.

Aktiviteti “Shqipëria dhe Kroacia: të rinjtë ndërtojnë një të ardhme të përbashkët evropiane” u organizua nga Unioni i Këshillave Studentorë dhe Ambasada e Kroacisë në Shqipëri, në bashkëpunim me projektin EUIS, financuar nga Bashkimi Evropian.

Gjatë shtatorit, diskutimet do të vijojnë edhe në Kukës, Berat, Pogradec dhe Shkodër.

Students and young professionals discussed yesterday at Europe House what EU membership means in practice and what can be learned from Croatia’s 🇭🇷 experience in this process.

The event “Albania and Croatia: Youth Building a Shared European Future” was organised by the Union of Student Councils and the Embassy of Croatia in Albania, in cooperation with the EU-funded EUIS project.

The discussions will continue throughout September in Kukës, Berat, Pogradec and Shkodër.

Ky fillim viti është i veçantë: për herë të parë, të 63 shkollat, kopshtet dhe çerdhet e rindërtuara ose të rikonstruktuara me mbështetjen e BE-së dhe UNDP-së përmes janë gati t’i mirëpresin fëmijët.

Dyert janë hapur, klasat janë gati. Tani është radha e fëmijëve t’i mbushin plot jetë. 💙🇪🇺🇦🇱

Siguria nuk njeh kufij gjeografikë.

Përmes Instrumentit Evropian të Paqes, BE-ja i ndihmon partnerët të forcojnë sigurinë dhe mbrojtjen e tyre.

Çfarë do të thotë kjo në praktikë? Pajisje mjekësore, mjete për çminim, automjete, trajnime, mbrojtje ajrore dhe municione, në varësi të nevojave të secilit partner.

Në Shqipëri, BE-ja u ka ofruar Forcave të Armatosura automjete të lehta të blinduara shumëfunksionale, automjete taktike dhe inxhinierike, si edhe trajnimin teknik përkatës.

Partnerët përballen me sfida të ndryshme, por synimi është i njëjtë: t’i ndihmojë të reagojnë ndaj krizave, të parandalojnë konfliktet dhe të mbrojnë qytetarët e tyre.

Security does not stop at borders.

Through the European Peace Facility, the EU helps partners strengthen their security and defence.

What does that mean in practice? Medical equipment, demining tools, vehicles, training, air defence and ammunition, depending on what each partner needs.

In Albania, the EU has provided the Armed Forces with light armoured multipurpose vehicles, tactical and engineering vehicles and the technical training that comes with them.

Different partners face different challenges, but the goal is the same: helping them respond to crises, prevent conflict and protect their people.

Harmonia fetare në Shqipëri është një shembull i jashtëzakonshëm se si toleranca, respekti i ndërsjellë dhe bashkëjetesa mund t’i afrojnë komunitetet dhe të forcojnë shoqërinë në tërësi.

Më 10 shtator, u përmbyll fushata ndërgjegjësuese “Paqe dhe Harmoni”. Ky projekt pilot, i financuar nga Bashkimi Evropian përmes programit STRIVE II, mbështeti aktorët fetarë dhe komunitarë në Shqipëri për nxitjen e dialogut dhe bashkëpunimit në shoqëri.

BE-ja vlerëson shumë kontributin e të gjithë partnerëve të përfshirë në këtë fushatë: Hedayah, udhëheqësit fetarë të Shqipërisë dhe komunitetet e tyre, Këshillin Ndërfetar të Shqipërisë dhe Qendrën e Koordinimit Kundër Ekstremizmit të Dhunshëm.

Fushata synoi ta kthente paqen dhe harmoninë nga fjalë në veprime konkrete, veçanërisht për të rinjtë, të cilët do të ndërtojnë paqen e së nesërmes.

Albania’s religious harmony is a remarkable example of how tolerance, mutual respect and coexistence can bring communities together and strengthen society as a whole.

On 10 September, the “Peace and Harmony” awareness-raising campaign came to a close. This pilot project, funded by the EU under its STRIVE II Programme, supported religious and community actors in Albania in fostering societal dialogue and cooperation.

The EU highly values the efforts of all partners involved in the campaign: Hedayah, Albania’s religious leaders and their communities, the Interreligious Council of Albania, and the Coordination Centre for Countering Violent Extremism.

The campaign aimed to turn peace and harmony from words into tangible action for society, especially for young people, who are the builders of tomorrow’s peace.

Më 16 shtator, prioritetet e Bashkimit Evropian për vitin e ardhshëm do të jenë në qendër të vëmendjes. 🇪🇺

Presidentja e Komisionit Evropian, Ursula von der Leyen, do të mbajë fjalimin e vitit 2026 për Gjendjen e Bashkimit Evropian përpara deputetëve të Parlamentit Evropian në Strasburg.

I njohur si SOTEU, ky fjalim vjetor bën një bilanc të vitit të kaluar dhe prezanton prioritetet e BE-së për periudhën në vijim. Pas tij do të zhvillohet një diskutim me deputetët e Parlamentit Evropian.

Europe’s priorities for the year ahead take centre stage on 16 September. 🇪🇺

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver the 2026 State of the European Union address before the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Known as SOTEU, this annual address looks at where the EU stands today and sets out its priorities for what comes next. It will be followed by a debate with Members of the European Parliament.

For Albania, as an EU candidate country, this is an important moment to follow the direction of the Union and the priorities shaping our shared European future.

Një Adriatik më i pastër. Shërbime më të mira. Një Durrës më i shëndetshëm.

Një investim madhor, i mbështetur nga BE-ja dhe Franca, do të transformojë mbledhjen dhe trajtimin e ujërave të ndotura në Durrës.

Me vlerë mbi 118,4 milionë euro, projekti do të përmirësojë ndjeshëm mënyrën se si qyteti do të mbledhë dhe trajtojë ujërat e ndotura. BE-ja po kontribuon me 85 milionë euro grant përmes Kornizës së Investimeve për Ballkanin Perëndimor, ndërsa Franca, përmes Agjencisë Franceze për Zhvillim, po ofron një kredi prej 33,4 milionë eurosh.

Cleaner Adriatic. Better services. Healthier Durrës.

A major investment supported by the EU and France will transform wastewater treatment in Durrës.

Worth over €118,4 million, the project will significantly improve how the city collects and treats wastewater. The EU is contributing €85 million in grant funding through the Western Balkans Investment Framework, while France, through the French Development Agency, is providing a €33.4 million loan.
