🎨 Another fantastic student artwork has joined the growing collection of woven fence panels brightening Todd Mall!

This beautiful piece was created by the Year 5/6 Reef Class at Living Waters Primary School and draws inspiration from the majestic MacDonnell Ranges and the flowing Todd River. Through colour, texture and pattern, the students have captured the beauty and movement of our local landscape, celebrating the connection between people, place and nature.

The artwork is especially meaningful following this year's abundant rainfall and pays tribute to the iconic ranges that shape our region.

Next time you're in Todd Mall, take a moment to stop by and admire this impressive community artwork, along with the many other student-created pieces helping bring colour, creativity and local pride to the precinct during the transformation works.

👏 Well done to the students and teachers at Living Waters Primary School!

Now we want to hear yours.

Thank you to everyone who came to our community consultation event in Yeperenye Shopping Centre last Saturday, we loved hearing your feedback. We've had a few questions about the proposed Differential Rating Model in Council's Draft Municipal Plan, so let's clear up a couple of common misconceptions.

❌ MYTH: Rural properties are charged the same rates as residential properties in town.
✅ FACT: Under the proposed model, the Rural Rate in the Dollar would be set at just 32% of the Residential Rate in the Dollar, recognising that rural residents generally receive fewer direct Council services.

❌ MYTH: Council is changing the rating model to make more money.
✅ FACT: The proposed model changes how rates are distributed across property categories. It does not materially change Council's overall revenue.

❌ MYTH: Ratepayers are footing the bill for projects like the new Library and Todd Mall upgrades.
✅ FACT: Many of Council's major projects are funded through significant Australian and Northern Territory Government grants.

The Draft Municipal Plan is currently out for consultation and we encourage everyone to read the details and have their say before Elected Members consider the final budget in June.
