📚 A little piece of Council history is on the move! 🗂️✨

For the first time in the history of Alice Springs Town Council, three series of permanent Council records are being transferred to NT Archives right here in Alice Springs!

Dating from 1976 to 2005, the records provide a fascinating insight into Council decisions and the history of our community. 🏛️📖

And the best part? They’re staying right here in Alice Springs / Mparntwe! 💛

The records will be available for the public to view at the NT Archives reading room on Hartley Street.

A big thank you to Helen and the Council team for helping preserve these important pieces of our history! 🗃️✨

🗑️ Waste Collection Update - Larapinta

Cleanaway is currently experiencing mechanical issues with one of its waste collection trucks, which is affecting today’s scheduled waste collection in Larapinta.

Waste collection in Larapinta normally takes place on Monday mornings.

Cleanaway is working to have another truck commence collections in Larapinta from approximately midday today and will work to complete the scheduled collection today.

Residents are asked to leave their bins out until they have been collected.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents for their patience.

💛 We want to hear from you, Alice Springs / Mparntwe!

Alice Springs Town Council is developing a Community Inclusion Plan to help shape a community where everyone can take part, enjoy our public spaces and services, and most importantly, feel like they belong. 🫶

To help us get it right, we want to hear from as many people in our community as possible!

We’ve partnered with independent Alice Springs-based consultancy Centred Solutions to help us hear your thoughts, experiences and ideas.

📝 The survey takes around 10–15 minutes to complete, and your feedback will help shape the Community Inclusion Plan.

Our annual Regional Waste Landfill Open Day was a [dumpster] truck-load of fun! 😋

A huge shout-out to the Regional Waste team for hosting another fantastic community event and helping locals learn more about waste management and recycling initiatives in Alice Springs / Mparntwe to reduce landfill 👏

Elected Members were also on hand to share information about the Northern Territory Government's expanded Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), which Council proudly supports. Since 1 July, all drink containers 3L and under are now worth 10¢, including wine and spirit bottles, milk containers, and juice containers which display the 10c symbol.

Having trouble with the Drop'N'Go Pods (Ross Park Carpark & Flynn Oval Carpark) or the Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Hartley St? While they're available most of the time, they can occasionally be full, out of battery, under maintenance, or experiencing technical issues.

Council supports local CDS services, but Envirobank own and operate the recycling program. For help with Pods, RVMs, bag registrations, or refunds, contact Envirobank directly:
