Central Desert Regional Council Central Desert Regional Council has been supporting its 4,200 people in 12 communities over 262,000km² since 2008. We work TOGETHER. We act with INTEGRITY.

We provide services to the communities of Ti Tree, Laramba, Engawala, Atitjere, Yuelamu, Nyirripi, Lajamanu, Yuendumu and Willowra. Major Services include Aged Services, Children's Services, Night Patrol/Community Safety Patrol, Sports and Recreation, CDP, Waste Management, Parks and Gardens upkeep, Essential Services, Housing Repairs and Maintenance. 🏡 Healthy Homes Check
The Living Strong Program is helping remote households stay safe, healthy and comfortable.
During Healthy Homes Checks, our team works with tenants to:
✅ Check the overall condition of the home
✅ Inspect fire alarms and air-conditioning systems
✅ Share the NT Home Fire Safety Visual Guide
✅ Demonstrate how to check smoke alarms
We also provide households with a brush cutter for one day's use, along with safety glasses and gloves to help keep yards tidy and reduce safety risks.
Small actions can make a big difference in creating safer, healthier homes for our communities.

💛 R U OK? Day Across CDRC 💛
Staff across Central Desert Regional Council came together to support the message behind R U OK? Day: taking the time to check in with one another can make a real difference.
In Alice Springs, Lucinda led a fun aerobics session before everyone enjoyed some delicious food together.
"The energy, enthusiasm and impressive moves certainly got everyone moving and set a positive tone for the day," said Darrelle Windsor.
Across the region, our remote teams organised their own gatherings: ✅ Nyirripi staff enjoyed a shared get-together over food. ✅ Yuendumu staff were joined by colleagues from Yuelamu for food, drinks and connection. ✅ Laramba hosted an R U OK? barbecue for Aged Care clients and extended families, with a fantastic turnout, plenty of smiles and even some lively dancing.
It was wonderful to see staff, clients and communities coming together to connect and support one another.
While R U OK? Day is an important reminder, looking out for each other is something we can do every day.
