Keeping our community safe is our top priority. Please remember:

✅ All children under 5 years must be actively supervised and within arm’s reach of a parent/guardian (16+), supervising no more than 4 children under 10.
✅ All children under 13 years must be actively supervised at all times by a parent/guardian (16+), supervising no more than 4 children under 10.
✅ Kids 13 years and over may enter without a parent/guardian but must show photo ID if asked.

🌞 Balaklava Swimming Pool Updated Opening Hours + Season Extension Announcement 🌊

We’re excited to share our operating hours for the remainder of the season!
🕗 WEEKDAY HOURS (Mon–Fri)
Morning: 7:00am – 8:30am
(Please note: Due to pool lights currently being offline morning sessions will commence from 7.00am and gradually shift to a 7:30am start as the daylight changes. Open for morning lap swimming regardless of temperature)
Afternoon: 4:00pm – 6:30pm

🗓️ WEEKEND HOURS
Saturday:
• Morning: 8:00am – 10:30am (open for lap swimming regardless of temperature)
• Afternoon: 2:00pm – 6:00pm
Sunday:
• Afternoon: 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Balaklava Swimming Pool will only open when the Roseworthy BOM forecast is above 25° at 5pm the day prior.

Balaklava Swimming Pool ready to reopen

TESTING, repairs and improvements are now complete at the Balaklava Swimming Pool and
the site will open this afternoon at 4pm Wednesday 25 February 2026.

Rigorous testing has been undertaken since the pool’s closure on Friday 6 February.
Council has worked alongside the Office of the Technical Regulator, South Australian Power
Networks and Council contractors to ensure the pool is repaired to operate for the remaining
season.

The cause of the incident has now been identified as an electrical earth fault in the pool’s
concrete concourse.

Extra low detection of three to five volts was found onsite when SAPN and Council’s contractor
first arrived.

Repair works were undertaken by Council’s contractor throughout last week.

Onsite weekly voltage testing will continue throughout the remainder of the pool season.

Due to the pool being closed for over two weeks, Council and Belgravia Leisure will extend the
Balaklava Swimming Pool’s season to 12 April 2026.
