A brown Staffy has been found in Candelo.

Unfortunately, his microchip details are out of date.

Transferring ownership of a cat or dog? Don’t forget the C3A Change of Ownership Form! 🐾

If you sell, give away, or otherwise transfer ownership of a cat or dog in NSW, the former owner is responsible for completing and submitting a C3A Change of Ownership Form to their local council within 14 days. This ensures the NSW Companion Animals Register is updated with the correct owner details, provides legal proof of ownership, and helps councils manage pet registration and compliance requirements. Both the former and new owner should sign the form and keep a copy for their records. New owners should also check whether the pet is registered on the NSW Pet Registry and arrange lifetime registration if required.

Keep your pet records up to date and help ensure your furry friend can always be linked to the correct owner.

A black cat has been found in the Black Marlin Drive area in Bermagui.

Unfortunately, she was not microchipped at the time she was found.

If you believe this may be your cat, please contact Council's Ranger Services on 6499 2222 for more information.

‼ Microchipping is a legal requirement for cats and dogs in NSW. The microchip number is recorded on the NSW Pet Registry and linked to the owner’s contact details. Your pet's microchip helps identify them if they are lost or stolen.
If your pet is lost and scanned by a vet, ranger or shelter, the microchip number can be used to contact you.

Our Town Planner Cadet is learning the ropes of all things planning and currently helping to assess development applications.

Away from work, she's a keen horse rider and a long time member of the Bega Showjumping Club.

Whether she's riding at home or in shows, spending time at the beach or enjoying a day on the lake, she loves the lifestyle that comes with living in the Bega Valley.

The community she is helping to shape is the community she is proud to call home.

🌱 What are priority weeds?

You might hear us talk about ‘priority weeds’, but what does that actually mean?

Priority weeds are plants that pose a significant biosecurity risk to our environment, agriculture, economy or community and need to be appropriately managed under the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015.

Some can threaten native plants and animals, reduce productive agricultural land, affect waterways and natural areas, or even pose risks to human and animal health.

Here in the Bega Valley, our Biosecurity team works to identify, monitor and control priority weeds, but the community has an important role to play too.

Knowing what to look for and reporting priority weeds early can help prevent new infestations from becoming established and reduce their spread.
