YWA works to improve young women’s safety, education, health and economic security. This program has been designed for young women who may be looking for work, unsure where to start, facing practical barriers to employment, or needing clearer information about local job pathways.
The program focuses on five accessible industries with local employment relevance:
Construction and trades
Retail
Aged care and disability support
Education support and childcare
Hospitality
Through the program, young women will complete a short intake form, receive clear industry pathway information, work through job-readiness support, and, where appropriate, be connected with employers, training providers or support services that match their chosen pathway.
The attached poster and one-page overview explain how the program works. The first step is for young women to complete the YWA intake form, which helps us understand their goals, availability, location, barriers and support needs.
The program is free to access. YWA cannot guarantee employment or training places, but we can provide practical information, guidance, job-readiness support and introductions where appropriate.
