Our Year 7 Science students have been out in the field at Nudgee Beach this week as part of their Biology unit.

Through hands-on investigations, students explored food webs, ecosystems and the fascinating world of mud crabs, bringing their classroom learning to life and gaining a deeper understanding of the natural environment.

🎼🎤🎶 FESTIVAL OF AUSTRALIAN MUSIC 🎶🎤🎼

This weekend, our Centenary SHS Junior Choir and Senior Choir are excited to be performing at the Festival of Australian Music (FOAM)!

FOAM is a celebration of Australian music and storytelling, bringing together performers, composers, conductors, educators and music lovers from across the country. Throughout the festival, our students will have the opportunity to learn from leading Australian musicians, participate in inspiring workshops, and perform alongside outstanding choirs from across Queensland.

A number of our Senior teams are competing in the Schools Volleyball League today at Nissan Arena. This brings together many of the strongest volleyball teams from around Brisbane in preparation for Queensland Schools Cup, being held next month.

⌚⚠️📱 AUSALERT📱⚠️⌚

A reminder that today, Monday July 27th, Australia will be conducting a nationwide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

At approximately 2:00PM (AEST), during Lesson 4, compatible mobile phones, some tablets and some smartwatches across Australia will sound a loud emergency siren for around 10 seconds, even if they are set to silent or Do Not Disturb. A test message will also appear on the device confirming that no action is required.

As many secondary students bring a mobile phone to school/wear a smartwatch, some devices may sound briefly during class time. While this may cause a short interruption, we will not be asking students to turn their mobile phone/smartwatch off beforehand. Students will not be in breach of our Mobile Phone and Wearable Device Policy and there will be no consequences issued if their device sounds as part of the nationwide alert.
