Why are politicians from both major parties so desperate to hand over land, water and electricity for AI data centres?

The major parties have been bought out by big tech, so it's up to the Greens to question the data centre boom. We're calling for a moratorium.

Well said Michael Berkman - Greens MP for Maiwar 👏

🌿 Koalas, trees, parks and a whole lot of hope 🌿

On the weekend, different community groups came together for the Save our Legacy protest. They were united by one goal - stopping governments prioritising corporations and private profits over community wellbeing and public good.

Whether that's protesting stadiums being built on public greenspace for the Olympics like Save Victoria Park, busy flight paths over people's homes, deforestation, anti-democratic legislation or saving koalas, the community has so much power when we come together through collective action. Thank you to the organisers, and for every person who showed up đź’š

50c fares. Trains every 15 mins. New stations and buses.

It’s time.

The AirTrain Buy Back Bill would bring the AirTrain back into public hands with compensation at under $47 million - the corporate owner’s own valuation of the asset. That’s about a fifth of the cost of a major upgrade, or a quarter of a single year’s grant funding to the greyhound racing industry.

20 years ago today, someone very special joined the Greens who would really make a difference...

Huge congrats to Senator Larissa Waters on your 20-year Greens-a-versary 💚🌿

From championing our environment to standing up for women, families and a fairer future, Larissa has spent her career helping people and the planet.

Larissa was the first Greens Senator for Queensland, taking office in 2011 and becoming Greens leader in 2025. She's the national spokesperson on Climate Change and Energy, Women, and First Nations.

Before entering Parliament, Larissa was a lawyer with the Environmental Defenders Office for 8 years and was awarded Australian Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year in 2010 🏆

Mum of 2, bushwalker and epic cake maker, Larissa has always kept hope alive - causing a few stirs along the way including a shout out from Snoop Dogg when she was the first Australian federal politician to breastfeed her bub in Parliament.

We are so lucky to have Larissa as our Senator and leader. It's a wonderful achievement and a well-deserved celebration. Thank you for everything đź’š

A person should help assess your care needs, not a machine.

The writing is on the wall for Labor’s aged care assessment tool - an awful system that older people, carers and experts have been screaming about for months.

It’s under-assessing need and priority, denying care to thousands of Australians and leaving people with degenerative conditions desperately short of even the bare minimum funding they need.

Now the parliament has been crystal clear: it’s time for Labor to go back to the drawing board on aged care assessments. Older people deserve a tested assessment system designed by experts that has their rights at its core.

From Qld Senator and Greens leader Larissa Waters:

The entire Labor party should hang their heads in shame today.

In one foul deal with the Liberals, the PM has abandoned vulnerable Australians and given predatory gambling companies the freedom to overrun our sport and screens.

Generations of Australians who have suffered through the gambling industry’s bombardment will have the relentless ads follow them.

Labor has decided that your living rooms, cars, YouTube, and even your kids’ Spotify playlists are fair game.

This cowardly Labor-Liberal deal confirms that when Labor comes under lobbyist pressure they choose their donors over people, every time.

A vote for Labor is a vote for the vested interests they protect.
A vote for the Greens is a vote for people, not profits
