💡 CLASS SPOTLIGHT: Health and 20C

This term in Health, students have been learning about their rights and safety as part of the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum. Everyone has the right to feel safe, and it is always an adult’s responsibility to keep children safe.

We’ve also been focusing on kindness as a key value - students have set themselves kindness challenges and are working on something kind for the community that we look forward to sharing with you soon!

🍇 A ‘FRUITY’ GOOD TIME

On Tuesday, the wonderful Child Studies learners from Clare High School visited our Mid Year Receptions. They spoke about healthy eating, played games and made delicious fruit snacks with us!

We had the BEST time and wish them all the best with the rest of their studies.

🤱BABY WISHES:

On Friday the 19’s, with help from Mrs Wetherall, surprised Mrs Gogoll with a baby shower on her last day before maternity leave! The learners kept the special surprise and presented her with a book of baby names and some special gifts.

We wish Mrs Gogoll all the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter; enjoy every moment with your new little one!

🎼SYMPHONY OF STORIES - PARADE DAY!

Friday was a flurry of colour, fun costumes and lots of smiles as we paraded down the Main Street of Clare, a favourite day for many! Here are some great class snaps for you to see some great costumes!

🌈MID YEAR MONDAY – BOOK WEEK EDITION!

What a wonderful week of books, imagination and a little bit of Book Week magic!

Throughout last week, we:
- Unwrapped special favourite books brought in from home and enjoyed discovering what was hiding inside
1 Explored most of the CBCA 2026 Book of the Year shortlisted books
- Enjoyed a special visit from Catherine from the Clare Library, who shared some of the shortlisted stories with us
- Completed lots of fun activities inspired by the books we have been reading
- Talked about our favourite characters, stories and what makes a book special
And, of course, finished the week with our AMAZING Book Week Parade!

The excitement around books this week has been so lovely to see. There have been lots of smiles, conversations, predictions, favourite characters and excited little voices wanting to share their books with their friends.

💡CLASS SPOTLIGHT: 21A

This term, we have been exploring how Clare has changed over time and whose stories are told through an integrated unit of English, HASS and Maths. We went on Clare’s Historic Walk, where we investigated historic buildings and considered what they can tell us about the people, places and events that shaped our community. We have been thinking carefully about whose stories have been told. Can you guess where we went and what history these buildings hold? We are looking forward to visiting the Clare History Group at the Hall next week to learn more from local historical knowledge and uncover more stories from Clare’s past.

💛 Book Week & Mason Day 💛

Today was a very special day at CPS.

We took our Book Week parade down the main street, proudly showing off our incredible costumes. It was so lovely to see so many members of our community out to wave, smile and say hello. 📚✨

Today was also about remembering our friend, Mason. 💛 There was plenty of yellow, and lots of Toy Story characters, as we celebrated and remembered him in a way that felt very fitting for Mason. 💛

On Day 3 & 4 of Book Week our musicians got busy making music in the yard and taking photos. From Twinkle Twinkle, to Baby Shark renditions, it’s been a great time!

Tomorrow we take to the streets in costume and enjoy our final piece in our “Symphony of Stories!”

🐯MID YEAR MONDAY - ‘T' FOR TIGER:

Last week, we were busy learning our new grapheme ‘t’ and its phoneme /t/! Our official prompt word for this sound is “tap”, which we have been using to help us remember and practise the /t/ sound. But of course, we couldn’t learn ‘t’ without having a little TIGER fun!

Throughout the week, the children enjoyed lots of hands-on activities to help them:
* Hear and recognise the /t/ sound in words
* Recognise the grapheme ‘t’
* Practise forming and writing ‘t’
* Think of words that begin with /t/
* Consolidate their learning through some fun tiger-themed activities!

The children are becoming more confident using our special literacy words phoneme (the sound we hear) and grapheme (the letter we see and write), too!

We have had a terrific time learning this one!
