📚 Pupil Free Day – Monday 5 October

While students enjoy a day at home, our staff will be engaging in professional learning with mathematics and explicit instruction expert Toni Hatten-Roberts. Teachers will explore practical strategies to strengthen student learning, including retrieval practice, effective questioning, and ways to deepen mathematical thinking and engagement in the classroom. We're looking forward to bringing this learning back to our students as we continue Putting the Child First.

Today we were lucky enough to welcome players from the Essendon AFLW team, along with the Coles team and MasterChef’s Michael Weldon, to Jingili Primary School as part of the Healthy Kicks program!

Students made their own sushi and learnt how to create healthy lunchboxes. Coles also generously gave away lunchboxes, hats and footballs. Other students enjoyed taking part in AFL activities with the Bombers players.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, and especially to Ms Turner for organising such a fantastic experience for our students!

In July, Arla (one of our students) won gold medals in both the 3D and ABA Vinyl events at the Northern Territory Field Archery Titles. Following in the footsteps of older sister Daisy, a former Jingili student and Australian Champion, Arla and Daisy are now aiming for the Australian Titles in 2027 and the 2032 Olympics. In recognition of their achievements, Arla and Daisy recently met the Chief Minister, the Hon. Lia Finocchiaro, who congratulated them and presented each with an NT coin and pin. We look forward to seeing both girls in the Olympics.
