St John is the leading provider of first aid and paramedic services in the Northern Territory, delivering day-to-day emergency care, providing volunteer first aiders and high quality first aid products, equipment and training. We are a self-funded charity directly linked to the Order of St John which is a long established global organisation that can trace its roots back over 900 years. The organi

sation has been in Australia since the 1800s and in Darwin since the 1950s. We work hard to build resilience in the NT community through everything that we do. From teaching first aid to restocking first aid kits, through to our paramedics and volunteers and their service to the community. We undertake important projects such as Community Education and First Aid in schools where we provide free non-accredited first aid training to remote communities, new parents and in schools, as well a Public Access Defibrillator project where we aim to have 1,000 public access defibs in the community by the end of 2021. As a charity, all profits from our products and services, such as first aid training, first aid kits or patient transfers, are put straight back into the community through our volunteer program.

🚨NOMINATIONS REMINDER! 🚨

Have one of our people gone above and beyond for you?

Maybe a paramedic helped you through an emergency, a volunteer made a community event safer, or a trainer gave you the confidence to know what to do when it mattered.

Now’s your chance to recognise them!

Nominations for the 2026 St John NT Excellence Awards are open, celebrating the people who go above and beyond to support Territorians.

SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION 👉 www.stjohnnt.org.au/ExcellenceAwards

Nominations close midnight Sunday 27 September 2026.

These two extraordinary women are taking the next step in advanced paramedic practice.

Rebecca and Kelsey are building their skills, backing themselves and helping strengthen care across the Territory.

This Women’s Health Week, hear what “do it anyway” means to them, and why taking the next step matters.

Another Red Centre NATS done and dusted!

Our crew of paramedics and vollies spent the weekend trackside, right amongst the action - safe to say they had a pretty good view! 🏎️

This morning, we were pleased to welcome Federal Minister for Skills and Training Andrew Giles MP and Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour MP to our Casuarina Ambulance Station!

The visit offered a firsthand look at our operations, including our new ambulance design, and an opportunity to discuss future training pathways that will help build a skilled and capable ambulance workforce for the Territory.

They also met some of our paramedics, including our new ICP interns - thank you both for joining us!

Day 3 of Operation Readiness Week meant a whole new challenge for our ICP interns!

They joined NT Fire and Rescue Service for a simulated car crash rescue, managing and treating two patients while working alongside fire crews to safely navigate the scene.

See how they handled it 👀👇

We’ve had an unexpected visitor!

Left behind at Pitch Black, this cuddly companion has been keeping busy at the St John NT office, making friends and checking out all our first aid kits!

But now it’s time to head home to their favourite person.
