🟢SLIME TIME UPDATE🟢

Wow! What a race it has been! 🤩

We are now in our third week of the Slime Time Leaderboard, and the competition is heating up!

🏆 Week 6: Miss Greywolf stormed into the lead and held on strong. 1G worked super hard to get her to the top.

📈 Week 7: Miss Mayne made a huge leap up the leaderboard as students got strategic with their voting. 4M rallied their peers to vote for her!

😲 This week: Mr Paxton has shaken things up and taken the lead by just 2 votes!

Our students have been working hard to demonstrate our school values and earn Kitchen Kudos tickets. Every ticket gives them the chance to vote for the staff member they would most like to see slimed!

⏰ Voting closes Thursday 18 June.

🎉 Colour Fun Run Challenge Winners! 🎉

Congratulations to this week's Colour Fun Run Challenge winners! Students who reached the fundraising target were entered into the draw to win an amazing hamper or scooter.

A huge thank you to Marie-Clare Boothby MLA for generously donating these fantastic prizes and supporting our fundraising efforts. All funds raised will go towards upgrades to our basketball courts and stage area, as well as purchasing sports equipment for our classrooms.

⏰ T-minus 7 days until Sports Day!

The excitement is building at Bakewell! Our House Captains did an outstanding job leading their teams during today's House Meetings, showing leadership and plenty of house spirit.

The chants were loud, the energy was high, and the teamwork was on full display as our houses cheered the school down! Bring on Sports Day!

📖Learning Lowdown📖

This term in technologies, our students have been developing their digital thinking and problem-solving skills.

Transition and Year 1 students have been learning about algorithms by giving step-by-step instructions to Bee-Bots and testing whether their directions worked.

Year 2 students have been exploring algorithms in ScratchJr by creating simple animations and putting coding blocks in the correct order.

Year 3 students have been designing animal quizzes using Keynote, combining online research, question writing, and branching choices to create interactive quiz projects.

Thank you to all of our families and special guests who joined us for assembly this morning.

A special thank you to Rosebery Secondary School staff and students for visiting Bakewell and sharing information about their school with our families and students.

We would also like to thank Marie-Clare Boothby MLA for assisting with our merit awards, drawing the winner of this week's Colour Fun Run challenge, and generously donating prizes for next week's challenge.

We appreciate the ongoing support of our school community and look forward to another exciting week of learning!

📖 Learning Lowdown 📖

This term in PE, classes have been learning and practising events in preparation for our upcoming Sports Day.

It has been fantastic to see students demonstrating our school values throughout lessons:
⭐ Respect by encouraging others and listening to instructions
⭐ Excellence by trying their best and always looking to improve
⭐ Courage by challenging themselves and giving new activities a go
⭐ Pride by cheering on their team and representing their house positively

Mr Shirley and Ms Grazioli have been super impressed with the enthusiasm and teamwork shown by students and are looking forward to seeing everyone represent our school on Sports Day! 🏃‍♀️🏅
