Thank you for being the ones behind the scenes — driving to training, cheering from the sidelines, lending a hand, encouraging our Juniors and always supporting them to give things a go.

Our Junior Brigade wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible families and positive role models standing behind our young members. Your time, encouragement and support mean more than you know.

We’re excited to introduce Austin, Alice and Mitchell as our Forth Valley Junior Fire Brigade Co-Vice Captains for 2026! 🧑‍🚒👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒

These three have shown fantastic commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm throughout their time with our Juniors, and we’re proud to see them stepping into leadership roles this year.

As Co-Vice Captains, they’ll have the opportunity to support our Captains, encourage their fellow Juniors, lead by example and continue building their confidence and leadership skills both at training and competitions.

A huge congratulations to Austin, Alice and Mitchell! 🎉 We know you’ll represent Forth Valley Juniors with pride and give the role your very best.

We are very excited to introduce Jack, Sean & Levi as our Forth Valley Junior Fire Brigade Co-Captains for 2026! 👨‍🚒👨‍🚒👨‍🚒

These three young men have shown great commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm within our Junior Brigade, and we’re looking forward to seeing them step up and work together in their leadership roles.

Being a Captain isn’t just about leading the team — it’s about encouraging others, setting a positive example, helping your teammates and being someone team mates can look up to.

A huge THANK YOU to Jye at Prestige Joinery TAS Pty Ltd for all of his hard work in creating this amazing space for our Junior members. It’s fantastic to have a dedicated area where the Juniors can get ready, store their gear and feel like an important part of the brigade.

During National Youth Volunteering Week, we're saying thank you to all the youth volunteers within Tasmania Fire Service.

Volunteering often begins well before adulthood and it gives young people the opportunity to develop skills, build confidence, form meaningful connections, and contribute to the community.

A few facts about our youth volunteers within Tasmania Fire Service that you may not know:
➡️ 650 (16%) of our volunteers are aged 10–24.
➡️ 18 of our young adult volunteers are currently serving in leadership roles such as Leading Firefighter, Brigade Officer, or Brigade Chief.
➡️ Our youngest Brigade Chief is just 24 years old.
➡️ We currently have 270 Junior and Cadet members (10–17 years old).
➡️ 493 (12%) of adult members started their TFS journey as Junior/Cadet members.
➡️ Over 1 in 5 of our Brigade Officers were once Junior and Cadet members.

We recognise the next generation of volunteers and thank them for the important part they play within Tasmania Fire Service.

The future of volunteering is already here, and it's our youth volunteers.

Fire Fighter Football is always going to be a hit and is one of the events that take place at the North West Fun Day. This fortnights training session saw us all giving it a go.

Forms have been sent out this week with information about upcoming North West Fun Day on Saturday 19th September in Ulverstone. Please return forms next fortnight during training so we can look at putting our teams together and know how many teams we will have 🚒👨🏻‍🚒

School holidays don't slow us down! 🚒👨🏻‍🚒
Just a reminder that training is still going ahead this Sunday, 19th July 4pm-5.30pm.
If you're away or unable to attend for any reason, that's absolutely okay—just let us know.
We can't wait to see everyone who's able to make it! 🚒

This week's training saw our Forth Valley Juniors take on the Tanker Relay, continuing to build their teamwork, communication and firefighting skills.

Our junior members have also been given the opportunity to nominate themselves for the roles of Team Captain and Vice Captain for the upcoming competitions. This is a fantastic chance for them to step into leadership roles, support and encourage their teammates, and continue developing their confidence both on and off the track.

We're incredibly proud to see so many of our juniors embracing new challenges and taking the initiative to lead. We can't wait to see them continue to grow throughout the competition season. 🚒🔥
