Grants are now available for small to medium-sized tourism businesses to install electric vehicle chargers for their guests.

Help your guests recharge while they explore Tasmania.

More visitors are travelling by electric vehicle, and offering EV charging can make your accommodation an even more attractive place to stay.

Eligible small to medium Tasmanian tourism accommodation businesses can now apply for funding through the Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program to help install destination EV chargers for overnight guests.

Grants of up to $2,500 per charger are available, with funding for up to four chargers per business. Round 1 is now open, with a share of $125,000 in grant funding available. Applications close 𝟯𝟭 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Grants will soon be available for local sports clubs to take climate action. The grant funding will help clubs upgrade their facilities to be more climate resilient and energy efficient.

Attention community sporting clubs! ⚽🎾👟

Clubs will soon be able to apply for grants of up to $100,000 to make energy efficient and climate resilience upgrades to their facilities.

The grants are part of the Game On: Teaming Up for Climate Action program, delivering $35.3 million over two grant funding rounds.

The first round is expected to open on 11 June 2026, with $17.6 million available.

Grant guidelines are now available on GrantConnect, so clubs can start preparing their applications.
Funding can help clubs cut energy bills, become more resilient to climate risks and reduce emissions through upgrades such as:
• solar panels and batteries. ☀️
• energy audits. 🔍
• lighting and heating/cooling improvements. 💡
• disaster ready upgrades for extreme weather. 🌧️

The Northern Midlands Business Association is hosting two free community workshops on climate and drought resilience.

The workshops are designed to hear local stories and ideas and turn them into practical, community-wide resilience planning.

The workshops will take place in Campbell Town, Saturday 16 May 2026, from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at Campbell Town Guide Hall, 20 King Street, and Longford, Saturday 23 May 2026, from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at Longford Memorial Hall, 55 Wellington Street.

Tasmanian councils, authorities and natural resource management organisations can apply for grants of $5,000 to $40,000 to plant climate-tolerant trees. A total of $200,000 is available to increase canopy cover and build the resilience of Tasmanian urban environments to climate change.
