Update: The Botanical Shop is now open, a little earlier than expected!

The Botanical Shop will be closed Thursday 28 & Friday 29 May, reopening Saturday 30 May.

Conservatory Closed for Restoration

The Conservatory is currently undergoing a major restoration to ensure its longevity for future generations. The project includes the installation of a new roof, as well as upgrades to the flooring, windows, doors, electrical systems, and supporting structure. This is the first significant restoration of the building since its original construction in 1939.

Scheduled to reopen in spring 2026, we look forward to welcoming you back into this renewed and inspiring space.

Botanic Gardens Week is coming up, and this year’s theme is Where Your Health Grows. In a world full of pressure and distraction, botanic gardens offer a natural boost for wellbeing - a place to feel calmer, move more, and reconnect with people and nature.

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲

Join the national challenge organised by Bganz to grow your health and go in the running to win one of 12 prizes! Throughout May, simply visit any botanic garden and complete at least one of the wellbeing actions.

As you may have noticed on your recent visit to the Botanical Gardens, we have said farewell to the Abundance food van. We would like to say a big thank you to the Abundance on the Quay team who kept us sustained and nourished during the restaurant and kiosk renovations. Even on the gloomy winter days, they were onsite ready to make your coffee with a smile.

As we welcome the cooler months, our opening hours are shifting slightly. From today, the Botanical Gardens will open 8am–5pm daily, including the Easter period.
Come and enjoy the crisp autumn air with us!
